Thank you for putting that the fight still has to go to the courts, the amount of people immediately going "This is the last day of the internet!!" is too high; That's not how it works. There's still a fighting chance.

I’m worried about libraries and schools and universities. I work at a library where the church next door shared a parking lot with us for many years. Then the church sold the land to a developer, and for a year, they fenced off their portion of the parking lot, which included the entrance. They said they’d let the public access the library if the city paid them $3,000/month, and for almost a year, the city wouldn’t pay, and our circ tanked. Now they’ve started paying. They could hire two of me for the cost of renting that entrance. I’m afraid the internet’s about to get like that.

Frankly, I think that net neutrality is an inevitability over the long term. Net neutrality is popular and it's an issue that the voters care about. I would be shocked if, the next time that there's a Democratic congress and president - which will almost certainly be in 2020 - there's not going to be a bill to enshrine net neutrality as law.

That doesn't mean that we can stop caring about it over the next 3 years - 3 years is a long time and of course the Democratic Party would be more than happy to give it away to the telecoms if people didn't care about it. But the more people care about it, the harder it's going to be for them to do so.

Corporate consolidation is fundamentally bad. It's harmful to the public good. It shouldn't be allowed. We need strong regulations and watchdogs to prevent things like this from happening, for the good of consumers and the economy.

In one way, it's bad for the development of the Marvel properties for them to be under one roof.

In another way, it's just bad to have this much corporate consolidation. The Fox deal wasn't even the only deal Comcast was working on in the last two months.

I feel like this is the kind of thing you're supposed to figure out by now, and I still just don't know. The only thing I'm 100% sure of is that I'm not a lesbian but beyond that I don't know. I've been with guys in the past and whenever I imagine a future relationship it's with a guy, and I can't imagine being with a woman but who knows if that'll change in the future, maybe I'll totally fall for a woman someday, who knows?, and then there's the fact that I haven't even been in a relationship in several years and I actually really enjoy not being in one and can't imagine that changing, and maybe I'm actually not into relationships at all (I think it's called aromantic?) and just...I don't know.

Anyone else feel this way?

I worry I'm retreating more and more into myself. Y'all probably noticed I've not been super active round here recently, but it's not just here. I've not been to 4chan, or anywhere recently.

Today was my birthday and I spent it with just my girlfriend and I'm happy about that. it was a good day, but I feel like, I dunno, as I get older I'm only getting more and more closed off to people.

I don't think I necessarily want more people in my life, I think I just want more... I dunno, more value? Just more?

You can tell you're getting old when each birthday makes you feel like you're wasting your life and it will only ever be able to become more wasted with each passing year.

Bah, I'm just being a bummer tonight.
