speaking as the person who made the Stargate SG-1 secrets from last week, might I suggest you check that show out. The primary villains are unbelievably, delightfully dramatic for no reason just like all of the time and are also thoroughly unrepentant about their evilness.

It was a good film, really well acted, great sense of suspense, but I'm not sure I liked the ending.

But I really do wish that at least Peter had got away - that was a whole lot of suffering. :'-(

But what's even worse is when they try to turn that into some kind of moral judgment on you as the player, or something like that, for doing the things that they've effectively forced you to do to play their game

I haven't read the EU do I can't comment on that. It had pluses and minuses for me. Overall, the reveal of Chewie as a "beast" was interesting but it raises a ton of questions (the Empire just lugs him around from campaign to campaign? why is Chewie this beast and not a slave? how come Han hadn't seen him before?). I also would have rather Han learned Wookiee from Chewie, rather than already knowing it.

I did see a commentator who noted that this might not actually be the thing that Han gets the life-debt for - that it might be a later adventure like if Han helps Chewie free his wife and son. If so, then it's nice if the life-debt happens after Han and Chewie were already friends. Of course, that's total head-canon but I like it. And, so far in the film, they haven't mentioned the life-debt so it is nice to see Chewie decide to be with Han just because he wants to and not for a life-debt.

She's biding her time for power, sure. But the politics of that relationship did not seem very complicated. Her very limited power was entirely dependent on what she was willing to give him.

They released a book about Han and Qi'ra on Corellia that I've been hearing good things about. I hope they continue to have her in comics and books since I don't think there's any chance of a sequel to Solo.

I agree that I thought she was more interesting than Han. I don't know that I care about how she got to where she was but I would've liked to see more of her in the adventure we got, and more of her and Han really talking.

NS: I haven't watched his show, but I read Kitchen Confidential just a few months ago and I was absolutely taken with it. Anthony Bourdain's death is the first celebrity suicide that actually upset me.

S: I've been reading up on his background and concocting an ever more elaborate headcanon about his life that I'm convinced I'm mostly right about.

I mean, it's all pretty plausible, not outlandish. It could be true. Or true-ish.

Possession was outlawed only a couple of years back in Japan. Sucks, but it wouldn't surprise me if other popular mangaka have also owned some at one point. Kinda suspect that there's at least a couple who have worked at Shounen Jump because there's also the Toriko mangaka got arrested for violating child prostitution laws in 2002 when he paid a 16 year old for sex.
