Sorry, OP. I don’t find Austen’s books difficult, but I do think they’re boring and not very funny. I got an anthology of her novels for Christmas and I’ve been reading them during quarantine, but the only one I kinda like is Northanger Abbey.

Huh, I just realized that, despite being a fan of Rumiko Takahashi’s stuff, I don’t think I ever actively participated in the fandoms (though I knew about some of the Sesshomaru/Rin drama thanks to friends who were in the fandom). I saw Ranma 1/2 when I was a kid, I was over Inuyasha when I got home internet access, I didn’t read Maison Ikkoku until I way later, and I didn’t really like Rin-ne. Also, I used to have a poster with this exact image hanging in my bedroom, so thanks for using it, OP, because it made me smile to see it. :)

I’ve actually seen this in reverse a few times—the story is built around Tracer/Widowmaker, and then Soldier 76/Reaper is happening in the background but basically irrelevant.

I don't think it's skeevy regardless of anything else, but I also think that skeeviness is often associated with the idea of eroticism.

Ah, there’s someone in my fandom who does these sorts of things as well, but it’s a doll fandom, so instead of writing fic, it’s more that she comments stuff like, “Your doll’s character is x, so she would’ve been too poor to wear y”, and “Your dolls are wearing their foundation garments incorrectly”. She gives mini history lessons too (and flounces when other people say she’s wrong) and it all bugs the shit out of me.
