Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been around; there's been a ton of school stuff recently, and I'm afraid I might have to take a temporary hiatus.

I will try and show up, and post when I can, but I'm not 100% sure what that will be. Sorry about that!

I find it kind of annoying

whenever someone inevitably replies to "what is xyz, I see it all the time and don't understand it, can someone explain?" with "Learn how to Google!"

I mean, yes, I see where they're coming from - it is annoying to clog up forum space with inane questions - but on the other hand, whenever I ask a question like that, I usually also want to discuss it with people. If I'm asking you for an explanation, I don't want what Wikipedia or Urban Dictionary can tell me, I want to know what the group's opinions are - I'm not just asking for a three-word sentence, I'd like to know some of the context behind it.

What are your thoughts on this? Does no one else do this? Are the "learn how to Google" people making a good point or are they just assholes?

Attitude towards retcons?

What are you guys' attitude towards retcons in fiction? Hate them? Okay with them? Like them in some genres and mediums but not others? Like only good retcons? Or always prefer to deal with things as they happened rather than retcon them away, even stupid stuff?

Tumblr & Suicides Post

I came across another one of those "My life sucks and I want to end it. If I get # notes/# followers before [insert date here] I won't kill myself" posts, rolled my eyes, and kept on scrolling.


Everyone on tumblr makes such a huge deal about them, so I'm wondering if I'm the only one who feels wholly unsympathetic. I mean, if that's all your life is really worth then I'm hardly going to feel bad about it. Frankly, it just seems like a childish cry for attention/more followers to me.

As someone who has dealt with depression and been put on suicide watch countless times, I find those posts really freakin' offensive.

When I posted my opinion on the matter someone tried to argue that the people who do that only want to know that someone out there cares.

I find that really hard to believe, though,

What 2-3 would you love to combine to create a new game/movie/TV Show?

This can be a movie/TV Show/Video Game/Book.

I would love to combine World of Warcraft and Pokemon. Basically, I want a Pokemon MMORPG and I don't even play Pokemon. I know WoW has the mini-pet fighting thing now, but that isn't enough. :C

edit: This isn't a crossover. The new thing would not have Dean from SPN hanging out with Avengers. It would have supernatural hunters in a SHIELD like organization....also, I would watch that show.

Curious, why would you specifically card someone who clearly looks over 40, if the point is specifically keeping it away from minors? I can understand young-looking 20-something, but generally 40-year olds don't look 17.
