The Avengers movie. I liked the first one and I really like the characters and I LOVE James Spader but I can't bring myself to care about the teaser trailer. I don't like the inclusion of that pinocchio song it ruins immersion for me and reminds me that the Disney overlords will be pulling the strings on this franchise for years to come. Also I don't care much about Tony Stark even though he is a great character with a fantastic actor behind him.

I'll probably be excited for it when I see it in the theater but other than that I'm just not super hyped yet.

also why do comic book nerds get upset at anything that shakes up the source material? it's amazing and also makes these recent superhero movies more of a pain than they already are

I lost all my previous ones when I switched fandoms, and really miss having good critique for my writing.
Anybody up for it?
I mostly write for Attack on Titan these days (lol, just cut out 95% of the comm), and my favorite to write about is Levi (there goes the last 5%).
But if anybody is interested I would be very grateful.

Also if anybody else is looking for betas, feel free to post in this thread.

The AMV thread of DOOM!

There was a thread a while back where folks posted their favorite AMVs. I had a massive, alphabetical list, but I thought "I can do better than this." So I did.

Four categories, alphabetized within each category. One silly and one serious per show, with one caveat. These aren't necessarily the best AMVs, just ones that I think more people should see. Some general thoughts:

BestAMVSOfAllTime is a great AMV source if you’re looking for something that’s constantly in motion and never slows down. They lean this way regardless of the source material, so they work way better with some shows than others.

I’m kind of amazed there’s so much Linkin Park here, given that I don't even like the band. I guess they do a lot of songs that fit really well with action shows. (Breaking Benjamin does the same, but they’re not quite as well-known.)

I was very careful about keeping the violent stuff in its own category. So if you’re wondering why something called School Days or Happy Tree Friends is in the Strong section . . . well, you’re in for a surprise.

Question about smartphones

I'm thinking about getting my first smartphone, and would like to have a phone with capacity for two SIM cards. One of them would keep an old contract from pre-smartphone times, when internet access was expensive as hell. If I do get a dual SIM phone, would I be able to change the settings in such a way that the phone would only access the internet via the one SIM card, and lock that function for the other?

I've been thinking of getting one, but I'm slightly nervous, being the internet is a big ocean, its depths filled with unknowable dangers...and creeps...I enjoy snail mail...but I'm not sure if i'm completely sold on the idea. I have international friends...but I'm looking to correspond with someone from the UK or France. Sigh.
