What's the most impressive character development for a fictional character that you can think of? Feel free to elaborate on why if you want to.

I generally classify "impressive" as having two components, firstly how extensive or how dramatic the character's development are, and secondly how believable and visible the progression of their development is (ie, no "suddenly they became different" jumps or changing for stupid reasons.)

My parents have these friends in Quebec whose son killed himself a few years ago and are trying to sell their house and move out. They can't find buyers because they're required by law to warn putatives that a suicide happened in the house. We live in Europe and have no such law here--one of uncles hung himself and his widow had no problem selling her house to clear out the succession after the deed.
So I wonder: why does this law exist in the first place? I'm not discussing its right or wrong, I'm just curious. (Morbidy curious, maybe?)

Am I just being a jerk about this person?

If you recognize the fandom or the author, don't tell them. I don't want to hurt their feelings.

They wrote several parts of an extremely long story with graphic material about rape, abuse, etc etc. They wrote the "hurt" part, and people predicted that they wouldn't write the promised "comfort" part and would stop there.

And they did. They say they get a lot of "hate" from everyone in the fandom, occasionally delete all of their accounts and all of their stories, and now they have just stopped writing entirely.

Do you think this is reasonable behavior? I know that fanfic authors don't owe anybody anything, but I can't help but feel in my most suspicious little heart that all of it is because they don't WANT to write the comfort section and don't know how to tell the readers. I think it's okay if they don't want to but jerking around and blaming the readers and fans just seems dumb.

ANYWAY my mum is super supportive and wants to help, but she's a christian. so she wants to find resources. i am SO PROUD OF HER and i think it's a great opportunity for her to do some learning!

do you know of any resources that are Christian + deal with LGBT stuff in a positive way? any books, websites, etc? I've already told her about ex-gay therapy and how it's bad and the CEO came out and apologize and said it didn't work. BUT I NEED MORE STUFF.

I have a fandom friend with a rather distinctive online presence, so to speak. Recently they've found out that there's someone who's been trying to copy them online. Stuff like taking URLs extremely similar to my friend's, putting the same quotes in thei profile as my friend, using art that other people drew for my friend on their blog... everything short of outright openly claiming to be my friend.

I don't really have a point here. I guess I'm just puzzled why someone would go to all that effort. As far as I can tell my friend doesn't even know them, and most of their stuff is locked anyway so it's not some bizarre slander campaign.

My city used to hold a Zombie Walk on the weekend closest to Halloween, which was said to be the biggest in our country. But, for the second year in a row, the mayor has vetoed it. Last year, Zombies were confined in a secluded museum court with no place to Walk around; this year, they're not allowed at all, period. That's so unfair!!
