Untold Superhero Tales

WHat superhero tales would you like to see told? Elseworlds, What Ifs, Missed Opportunities and just general fluff.

Personally, I'd like an elseworld with a Native American looking Superman arriving on Earth in the Manifest Destiny era or earlier and ending up in an Indian Tribe. I'd love to see if DC could pull that off (spoiler: They probably could not)

I'd actually like to read about Bruce and his kids. Just a day-in-the-life kind of story where there's no bad dudes to fight; just Bruce being an awkwardly awesome dad and the kids being siblings to each other.

I'd also like to see more Amalgamation comics. Some of the ones they made were silly but some of them were interesting. I'd like to see ones where they weren't hampered by the VS storyline, and could pair any characters together. Maybe Captain America and Batman. And then have that character interact with the regular characters from either universe.

Futuristic Wonder Woman. They alluded to it in the Million storyline and I wasn't that thrilled with how they chose to do it, but I'd love to see another take on the Amazons in the future - either evolving from where they are now or just Space!Amazons.

Yazawa Nico from Love Live is so like me it's unbelievable. We both have dark hair, we're the eldest child, we try way too hard to be cute when we're actually whiny and babyish, the way she acts with her mum is even the way I act with my mum! And we're the same height and have the same zodiac sign! I don't really hate Nico, but the franchise does a good job of making her likeable despite how obnoxious she can be. I do hate that seeing her makes me think of my own flaws, but I still like her character in general. She's just my least favourite girl because of this.

But I don't see it happening because I'm not drama enough to make an interesting story. I'm the anti drama. I would take a crisis situation and sigh my way through it.

We all know that Due South fits in the humorous buddy cop genre. One's a goodnatured Canadian, the other is a wolf with hearing impairment of some sort is a wise cracking urban Italian-American (or Polish American, in the final season), but the big question is:

Overrated Characters

What characters do you think are overrated? In this sense, I mean, are not actually as complex, interesting, or ground-breaking as fandom (or even mainstream media) give them credit for. If they are fairly objectively interesting or well-developed, they don't count.

What movie franchise do you think would benefit from a smaller budget

We all know that a lot of what made Deadpool so good was the smaller budget forcing the scriptwriters to improvise and fill the gap usually filled with special effects with story and characterization instead. It seems as if the big budget is something that the critics are beating the new Batman movie up over too. So what franchise do you think would benefit from smaller budgets, and don't everyone say Transformers?

Transformers.

But also Star Trek. Looking back at the Trek franchise it seems that every time they cut the budget the movie was better. In fact the odd/even rule was due almost entirely to the even numbered movies having a smaller budget than the odd numbered ones. I think if the NuTrek movies had small budgets and less room for effects because of it, we might get better stories out of them. I'd actually like to see them drop out of A-list blockbuster rotation because that would mean less budget per movie, so less incentive to cater for the lowest common denominator.

For me my parents will be out of town at the end of the week. Just me and my sister. I'm kinda looking forward to it but also kind of nervous because fuck knows if I'll get any sleep. Still all that time to myself, yesssssssssssssss.
