I don't know how much Shakespeare on film you have watched, and I haven't seen this film -- maybe it's really not for you, which is cool. However, if you're just worried you won't get it, I encourage you to take a chance. Directors can do really diverse + interesting things with filmed plays that can show the story and characters in an interesting light that you wouldn't get from reading or even watching a play in a theater.

What stories in particular? I prefer his short stories, which feel more organized and together than his very long novels.

Yeah, if you don't like where the comic is going, you should probably stop.

I personally don't mind it. I think it's improved a lot since Jacques seems to have come to terms with the fact that he's not necessarily all that interested in telling stories about the original cast in their primary configuration. I honestly think this.
