What are you a judgy bitch over?

Some clothing choices. Like, there's not one clothing style I specifically disapprove of - but if you say, turn up at an opera in sweatpants, I will judge you. Context matters.

I am actually judgmental of people who gossip, or who are needlessly bitter or unhelpful (not just to me, but to others) while it would not inconvenience them greatly to do so.

I am judgmental of people who vote for - and certainly those vocal about it - politicians or parties that promote intolerance of callousness. (And no, i don't just mean Trump, there's plenty of that in Europe, too).

Come to think of it, this post is in REVERSE order of importance.

Re: repeat, I guess

(Anonymous) 2016-11-27 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It really is the least important of your three but the clothing one is very near and dear to me right now. When I spend £350 for stalls seats on the west end, I do not fucking appreciate an asshole in torn jeans and a motorcycle jacket with chains all over it sitting next to me rattling and clinking the whole time. I hate going to the theatre now because none of them enforce dress codes, entitled assholes think it's perfectly acceptable to crinkle sweets wrappers during the performance, and the theatres claim they allow it because they want to make theatre accessible to everyone. Well then stop charging us like it's a major fucking privilege if you're going to act like it's a fucking panto! I actually really love getting dressed up and treating the whole thing like it's a super expensive luxury that requires people to dress and behave as such. If I wanted panto, the local troupe charges a fiver the last Saturday of every month.

I was going to say I couldn't think of anything, but you made me realize I judge people that judge clothing. As long as the person's clothing is not getting in the way of other people's enjoyment of the opera like a 2 ft mohawk or something that blocks people's view, I could give less of a shit if they came wearing jeans. They're going to be seated and watching a show in the same room with you; you don't have to look at them if you don't want to. It's not like a party with a dress code where you're expected to interact with people.

I judge people who judge others as classless due to their clothing choices when their clothing choices don't harm anyone or detract from anyone's enjoyment of the event. If people want to place high and lofty aspirations on opera they can go to an opera house with a dress code. Going to one without one and complaining others don't hold to their personal codes is being exactly like the type of rich person everybody hates.

Whiny teens who find it SO UNFAIR that they get asked to do stuff, and who think being a teenager means they are not a child. I know I shouldn't judge, 99% of the planet went through that phase, but I'm at the point of my life I'm judgey over that. Another decade or so and I'll be ready to be judgey to people like me who are judgey, and a decade or so on from that I get to be judgey for anyone who is younger just for being younger.

What someone thinks of movies. I don't mean "Oh, it's not perfect but I love it", I do that myself a lot - but people who will shout down and pretend anything is a total masterpiece when it's clearly not and not even trying to be.

Blah blah objectivity exists and i'm fine with it, but people don't go to film school to learn how to do things badly.

Also a repeat from above, though with some more elabration

Private tutor here - parents who'd rather their kids flunk out of school than skip one season of sports while they get their grades back on track.

I realize it's not that simple, a lot of parents are looking at scholarships and also compromising with their kids, but the funny thing is that my latest kid didn't even like sports that much. His dad made him play them. Grr. It's honestly made me wary of sports parents in general, which I know really isn't fair since plenty prioritize both grades and sports. However, I have friends who teach at colleges and they say those same types of kids get there expecting to pass just because they're athletes. Nope.

People in their mid-to-late twenties who act like adulting will just magically happen if they make somebody else do it (i.e., relying on/forcing friends or family to make all plans for them, never cleaning or cooking etc., handling travel, all that jazz). IDK. Immaturity (both emotional and like, practicality wise). I know a 29-year-old who pitched a huge fit once because she "couldn't figure out" how to take a taxi. That kinda shit.

People who are proud of their apathy/ignorance/callousness.

People who act like fandom things (shipping, fic tropes, etc., not like, "this person in fandom is being abusive/hateful/etc") is THE MOST IMPORTANT POSSIBLE THING!

Otherkin and fictionkin.

Plus: "Disney princesses as _____!" art. ENOUGH. STOP. Especially if it's edgy. Etc.

The term queer in this context: "a heartfelt story about a young queer woman coming into her own and finding her place in the world."

Probably because lesbian would work way better in this context (girl meets girl in nightclub, they have sex, and it's about the relationship the ensues with zero focus on dudes sexually) and queer's still got slur connotations that feel weird to use in a straightforward and dry description .

If you say you "love Pokemon," but give off all the vibes of a genwunner or you treat the franchise like it's a fashion statement (ie. your favorite Pokemon is Pikachu because Hot Topic has him on all their Pokemon merch), then you can bet I'll judge. If you just say "Yeah, I like Pokemon, but I'm not that familiar with it/it's not my favorite fandom," then you're fine. I just hate the people who think it's a trendy fad and are suddenly "such huge fans" despite only knowing the names of 10 out of the 802+ Pokemon.

Saying "Digimon is a ripoff of Pokemon" is also another way for me to see you're ignorant and have no idea what you're talking about. Digimon/Dejimon is pretty much "Tamagotchi for boys" while Pokemon/Pocket Monsters is a monster-collecting RPG with its foundations in insect fighting. To say one is a ripoff of the other makes you just as juvenile as a schoolkid arguing over Marvel or DC comics.

Anti-vaxxers--It's people like them that ruin immunity for someone like me who has a compromised immune system and/or allergies and can't necessarily HAVE vaccines.

Anyone who says they love any "multigenerational fandom" and yet are a total "genwunner"/"Geewunner". Not just Pokemon, but things like My Little Pony, Transformers, Digimon, etc. Like, it's okay to not like certain generations and yet like others, but if you're all "GEEWUN WAS THE ONLY TRUE _" I auto-judge you. (On that note, I admit I was almost a "genwunner" about the Mega Man fandom until Legends, as well as ZX. But I admit that I learned better.)

Parents who won't actually "parent" their kids.

Re: What are you a judgy bitch over?

people who are proud of being an asshole for no good reason. Like people who are proud of being an asshole to children because they don't like them and have a grudge against people who pressure them. FFS the children didn't do anything to you. Also people who whine about being expected to have kids but then judge people for wanting to have kids.

Like fuck how do you like being judged? Don't do it to other people.

Also people who will use 'societal oppression' to justify why they're I dunno entitled to be petty and rude to individuals who have nothing to do with things. People who will say things like " I don't care about your feelings." "your gender has hurt mine for generations you can deal"or "I drink X tears"

You're not being revolutionary or progressive, you're just a prick who uses social issues to justify being an asshole. Any schmuck can find a justification to keep being a shit to people and say it's okay for them. That doesn't make it right or justified.

Don't get me wrong I value standing up for oneself. But I know the difference between someone being assertive and someone being aggressive.

If you're kind to me while doing this to others, I'm judging the fuck out of you and I def think your a fake shit.
