I want to buy things from small businesses to support them rather than Walmart/Target/big stores, but so many of the ones I have dealt with this year have shitty customer service and it's really putting me off. I am not a pushy asshole, I am not an impatient jerk who wants it yesterday, I am not one of those "the customer is always right even when s/he's 100% wrong" idiots! I just want my orders to be delivered in a timely fashion and if there's a problem or a delay I want to be notified ASAP. Is that too much to ask all of a sudden????

To start off, I'm attending Monster-Mania for the first time next year at Cherry Hill, NJ. There's a cast reunion for The Thing (five members of the surviving cast so far), and my plan is to get my copy of the novelization signed. :)

Do you like to make icons? Do you follow any good icon makers or communities? What process do you go through when editing them? What are your favorite types?

I make them occasionally and used to run a journal, but got lazy and preoccupied with other hobbies, and just only recently started getting back into making them again. Usually I end up making batches of whatever character I'm roleplaying at the time, and then just sharing them out especially if they're a rare one.

I also LOVE coloring manga images for icons, but that's a lot more time consuming than simply cropping them. I'm learning more tricks with filters and layers the more I do it, though.

Therapist Anon Update

Trump therapist anon here.

As advised, I've been trying to find a local job. It's difficult - I can't drive and the majority of jobs at my experience level in my town are retail jobs that are pretty competitive and get snatched up quickly - but I did apply at a local J-Crew (I didn't get in, but it's a start) and a Christmas elf job. I'm still in the process of looking up local shelters and deciding what to take with me if/when I go.

I had a very bitter argument with my parents last night. I laid down three requests - one, I be allowed to see a different therapist, second, I leave group and stay in individual where I have more control over the conversation, and third, that the ultimate decision to stay or leave after the conversation in January. They threatened to cut off my pocket money and kick me out of the house if I refused to go (and possibly to a home). My father is starting to slip on the January exit date - now there's no guarantee that I'll be allowed to leave when the day comes and I'll have to discuss my therapy issues with my therapist in the room (and I doubt he'll let me go - he thinks I'm unhealthy and need the sessions). My brother has also returned to therapy, which complicates things further, and I'm worried the pressure on me will increase to encourage him to keep going.

I've done research into reporting him, but I'm looking for a reporting method where my anonymity is guaranteed, especially since he does chase up group members and I don't have anyone I know familiar with the therapist to back me up.

I did try and record a session with my phone as you guys suggested, but it didn't work, which turned out to be just as well. While one of the group members reported me to him, my phone hadn't successfully recorded anything so there was nothing incriminating. But now I can't bring my phone into therapy anymore. Apparently the single-party consent law doesn't apply to group therapy sessions.

On the better side of things, I didn't let him faze me this time. I ignored him bringing up politics (one reference to Russian hacking and one joke about Hillary being a Nazi) and stayed calm and polite throughout the session. So I think I'm controlling myself better and am not letting him upset me.

I'm sorry your parents are treating you like that anon :c I'm don't have any advice, but I just wanted to say, I'm sorry, they are being awful.

I'm very curious as to what kind of "home" they're thinking of remanding you to, how they could do that legally, and how it would be any worse than what you're putting up with now.

I think you should just let them institutionalize you. You clearly cannot support yourself, they clearly no longer wish to, the country has gone to hell anyway, go sit it out in a nuthutch until the Democrats get back into power and sanity returns to the world at large. Go now and ask them to send you to the home already, not wait.
