Not in this fandom, but gdi this. Canon het relationships don't magically go away because you want to imagine some guy is into guys now. IRL plenty of us have dated both men and women, so that people seem to want to write that out of their fics sometimes is...kinda beyond obnoxious.

I've been watching the Mighty Boosh non-stop for the last two months and I am a 'geek-girl' so I love TF2, Nintendo, Psychonauts, and all that jazz. But I am in a dorm with people who don't understand any of that. My gang of friends currently hate me because I keep trying to get them into The Mighty Boosh and other quirky things. I feel so alone and unhappy being around these bubble-headed mainstream music-loving idiots.

But seeing this secret made me happy, and it reminded me that I'm not alone. There are so many thigns still to smile about--even if i'm just smiling days later about this secret or crimping in the elevator when no one is around ("soup, soup- the tasty soup soup"). I'm happy because of this secret.

You are not alone, OP. I've always felt that the horse world was like a big fandom, and the equestrian sports part of it doubly so. Just think of how much more fun it'd be with an actual fandom, with shipping/RPF wanks and drama instead of just the usual trainer/breeding/shoeing/feeding/supplement/grooming/slaughter/safety/newbie/breed/pasture/tack/leather/clothing wanks.

That's because you don't feel as personally about your work writing—you're being paid for it, you want to improve, but it isn't your work but the work that gets the job done. I was the same when I was working (as opposed to now that I've gone back to school, though it's still not quite the same); I rarely took anything at work very personally.
