I had such an awesome night and such a shitty day you wouldn't even believe.

Spent all night at school more or less working, which doesn't add anything to the 10 hours of sleep I had gotten in total this week. I attend a school for Motion Graphics, and trust me, it's like bootcamp for hipsters. Didn't get that much done, but I spent some time talking to one of the guys in class I have wanted to get to know better for quite a while now, and that was worth a LOT to me, since I'm quite awful at small talk. Basically laying in the hammock and preparing for my part of the group speech we had been working on for three weeks now. I felt pretty nauseous the whole time, and my body was shaking like all night long, but I'm on a pretty extreme diet (need to lose weight really fast, so 600 calories a day), so I blamed it on that. Thought it could be menstruation cramps as well, but thanks to the diet I was pretty convinced that I wouldn't have any menstruation this week, which I would be extremely grateful for, since my blood sugar, values and pressure are all awful, so I need to take medicine to compromise even for menstruation.
I didn't take it.

So when it was time for the speeches, I completely blanked out. I had been feeling fine all the way up until it was my time to speak, but as soon as I raised up from the chair it was like the whole world just crashed down, my vision blurred in and out, the floor was swaying, I couldn't see my classmates, I couldn't see my notes, my mouth moved by my brain had so little oxygen that I couldn't form any words. I was actually grateful that the guys I'd been up with all night had went home after their own presentation, because I don't remember anything else than sitting on the floor trying not to faint during the rest of the presentations. It was a guy sitting beside me for support and I was thinking that if I fainted right then, I would fall on him, but I didn't dare to move since I wasn't sure if my brain would been able to handle that.

Anyway, my friends caught up on it after the presentations was over (or, I don't know, maybe after my presentation went shit, or maybe they thought I was nervous or I don't know - I'm so bitter about that, I was actually well-prepared and I love speaking in front of people), and brought me some water, then I went home to get my medicine and some meal replacement during the lunch break. What happened after lunch is a bit of a blur, but we gave each other feedback and got icecream which I didn't eat. I trailed after my group apologizing over and over too, hah.

After school I stayed and worked for two hours but couldn't really concentrate, went home, unpacked my new phone, it didn't work, went and got it fixed, wobbled to the store 2km away, noticed that I'd forgotten my wallet, wobbled home, picked up my credit cards, back to the store, card didn't work, and at that stage I was pretty much like fuck dinner fuck everything. Called my mom on my new phone, which was pretty much super-awkward since my brain was still lacking in blood and I couldn't get the words out (plus I said the presentation went fiiiine yes sure) and stuttered. Then went back to school, worked some more, went home (five minutes away, luckily), slept two hours, during which my menstruation exploded all over my bedsheets, went back to school at eleven at night (my classmates was like "Go home and sleep!", love them so much), finished my work, and now, 2am, I'm home again and can't sleep.

What is this even.

Hello! As it turns out, cuteanimalpics is busy with family stuff, so- welp, I guess you guys have me for one more day. Really sorry this is a bit late, didn't get the message until a while ago.

In other news, though: help San Deigo Zoo name a baby panda! You can submit your name ideas here, and then vote for them in October. Do note that there are guidelines, though, since the pandas are on loan from China, all names have to be in Chinese and have to pass approval from Chinese officials.

Pandas are also very interesting animals! Although a lot of people might see them as kind of boring and honestly not very successful in terms of... well, ability to survive, it should be noted that their real power lies not in what they are as animals but what they are as symbols. Panda diplomacy goes back a really long way, and in the present day is actually extremely politicised! There've been scandals and complaints as well, since accepting pandas isn't seen so much as accepeting pandas as it is accepting them from China. Neat, ins't it?

But since we're already on the topic of pandas, well... why not? The first three pics are of the San Deigo baby in question!

Thank you, you guys. Your replies really helped and inspired me. Today, as I was walking through campus, I decided to drop in on the Army program folks, and I'm starting to set things up. The captain there seemed dead set that I was a good match for the program, so I'm really stoked.

I feel like I'm headed where I belong. It may not be in the safest of places, but it feels good. I'm glad that there are places in the world that need people like me. Thank you for helping me see that.

I've been rewatching the first season of Heroes on netflix instant (which is still excellent) and it's making me feel nostalgic for how crazy into the Heroes fandom I used to be. SO I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO ME ABOUT HEROES

I was super into Claude/Peter and Ando/Hiro (and now rewatching it, I have a craving for Nathan/Hiro and Peter/Nathan).

I never really forgave the show for killing off DL though :( (and I hear that Niki died later too? I didn't watch past the second season because the show started ticking me off. BUT I LOVED NIKI). I also liked Charlie a lot (but I hear that Hiro changed the past so she could live in a later season?)

omg I loved Ando/Hiro so hard. They were dorky and completely awesome. It was obvious that they truly loved each other (platonically, anyway. Though I like to think otherwise). That scene where Hiro gives Ando his sword "so you know I'll be back" and then leaves Ando in Japan still gets me a little.

And then Adam was a homewrecker and made me ship him and Hiro.
