Am I the only person who's really uncomfortable with the way this has infiltrated the feminist blog spheres.

I'm really uncomfortable with the way it's appropriated a lot of the dialogue of oppression. And any real discussion of the subject immediately gets shut down with cries of concern trolling or not being a true feminist among a host of other nonsense.

I am forced to think of some unpleasant explanations as to why the two have become inextricably linked online.

Is your favorite character in a fandom also the one you're the most obsessed with/interested in?

Is this a thing that happens to other people? Do you find yourselves reading loads and loads of fanfic for and discussing and fangirling over a certain character, but your favorite character is someone else entirely who you don't obsess over much at all?

I'm in Avengers fandom, and even though Bruce is my favorite character if I'm measuring it by how much I like a character, the character I obsess over most is Tony, even though I don't love him quite as much as I love Bruce.

I also had this in Stargate fandom. My favorite character was Jack, but my folders were crammed with fic about Daniel, and I was much more interested in reading fic about him than anyone else.

And even though I like Marshall, Lily, and Ted from How I Met Your Mother way more than I like Barney or Robin, I'm far more obsessed with Barney and Robin and Barney/Robin shipping and the other three barely get mentioned in my fannish participation.

This happen to anyone else?

Heeeeey F!S I recently got this email (http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcdct3qBvI1qglcx2.png) claiming to be from Blizzard Entertainment, and it's claiming that I have a Diablo III account, and I'm in trouble for trying to sell it.

Two problems.

1. I don't have a Diablo III account.
2. I don't even know what Diablo is.

But, I'm afraid to ignore it, because it could be bad.

Has anyone else had trouble with this email? Is it just a scam, and I just need to delete the email/block the sender?

Everyone I know writes time in the 24 hour clock. Say, if asked to write down the time, we all put 18:40 rather than 6:40pm.

I'm British.

So, where are you all, random people, and how do you write it? 12 hour, 24 hour, something completely different? :D

I only ask because I was chatting with someone, and when they asked what time it was where I am, I answered with the 24 hour clock. They proceeded to go ':( Military time!' or something similar, and it kind of threw me.

So, I'm curious to find out which way is more common! :)

Looking for an old secret

It was a long time ago, but no earlier than mid-2010, when I found the comm. It started out something along the lines of "I know this makes me sound like a tool", except instead of typing the word tool, they used a picture of this thing that looked like a dick-shaped wrench with the word "tool" engraved in it or something. One commenter, I'm pretty sure it was dethtoll, said that they knew it was supposed to say too but they ended up reading it as "dickwrench". Ever since then I've been using the word dickwrench around here (sporadically) hoping someone will remember. Nobody ever gets it :( I've never found it again, and I wish I could.
