Inspired by the above thread. Mine are pretty mundane.

I really don't enjoy dirty talk, I have no idea why. I don't even like "yes yes, fuck me!" And the second anyone starts begging for it, I hit the back button like its Hot!Johnny Depp.

I have no interest in a lot of the commonly squicky kinks, so I don't seek them out and have no opinion on whether I "like" or "don't like" them. I just don't care.

old fandoms revisited

hey F!S, do you guys ever suddenly get super into fandoms from your past?

i was a kid back when final fantasy 7 came out, and it was, without a doubt, my favourite game for years. when i got older, the interest kind of waned for whatever reason. however, i decided to replay it this past week on a whim, and i'm suddenly remembering why i loved it so much in the first place.
the difference being that my taste in characters has changed a lot since the late 90s, and my favourite characters now do not match my favourites from back then whatsoever.

what about you guys? has anyone else been visited by the ghosts of fandoms past recently? have your tastes changed since then? how has that effected how you enjoy the media in question?

Shadow of the Colossus: I love that game so much, I do ok until I need the horse in battle. Then it all goes to hell.

The first Legend of Zelda game: I do nothing but die very quickly in that game.

Final Fantasy II: The leveling system, even with a walkthrough I can't manage that shit.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the PS2: I can never get past the prefects at night.

Okami for the Wii: I'm still stuck in the Cave of Nagi. No matter how straight I make that line it's never straight enough. You'd think that would be easier than the PS2 version, but it's not.

So every now and then you'll get someone who always complains at the sex-swappers for ruining their slash/het/femmslash pairing by adding a/another penis/vagina. Usually after this you get one or more people defending sex-swapping by saying they're the same characters and so you should enjoy the pairing no matter the genitals.

This always gets me thinking. I actually have preferences between slash/het/femmslash. All my slash ships are usually of the dark/angsty/not considered healthy variety, my het ships I prefer the old-bickering-married couple types, and my femmslash I want as fluffy and cute as possible. So for me, yeah they're the same characters, but once one or both of them change sex it loses my interest because their relationship types don't match up anymore.

Anyone else have picky preferences like this or do you generally stick to the same kind of ship no matter the pairing combination?

So I have these two friends who have really obvious crushes on each other and weren't doing anything about it.

I've been slowly working on getting them to talk about it, with limited success. Then last night I just started a convo with them, pretended my internet went, and went to have a shower.

They finally talked and now they are together. <3

I feel oddly accomplished and really happy for them and I just wanted to let it out somewhere anon!!

AC/DC, Metallica, and Led Zeppelin are three of the five. Seriously, varying too far musically is just legit OOC for him.
