I'm searching for some decent reading material, original fiction rather than fanfic. I'm looking for some old school sword and sorcery. Something a bit Conan The Barbarian or something with elves. Proper mystical elves who are mysterious, beautiful, wise and true and all the jazz. And preferably standalone novels rather than huge long series. Nothing post-modern, nothing deconstructive, just old tropes played straight but engagingly written. I'm not in the mood for a clever dick author pulling a fast one here.

Please help me F!S. Some of you must know some good stuff.

Looking at an apartment right now. It seems like a decent enough building, the location is great in terms of commute, and it's quite cheap for the area.

Main downside is that the street it's on is super shady. And it's below ground level - still gets natural light but it's definitely a basement.

I am freaked the fuck out. I was just dropping off some mail at one of those drive up mailbox thingies ( pretty late at night, 12:30AM or so) and someone started banging on my passenger side car door and trying to get in. I pulled away as fast as I could and only got a glance at the person - looked like a girl, longish hair and a mini skirt - but didn't stick around.
Some ten minutes later, I figured I should maybe call the cops, so I did on a non-emergency number and ended up babbling like an idiot, that I hope I didn't hit that person, etc.
Then I called my brother who basically called me an idiot for dropping off mail so late at night, babbling to the dispatcher about maybe hitting the person and that I probably got myself in trouble just saying I maybe hit them.
Granted, dropping off mail was probably not the best idea, but I've been doing that for years without an incident. But just talking to the dispatcher and babbling, I mean, yeah, not the most sensible thing to do but my nerves were shot. And now on top of it, I'm worried I might somehow get in trouble for driving away and saying I "probably" didn't hit the person trying to get into my car. How the fuck am I in the wrong here?

I to wank and not have sex with my significant other.
Don't get me wrong, it is great with them.
I don't know if I like the situations more or what.
I can tell it's updating my better half and it's been over 4 months I would guess.
I'm worried that it makes my other mad and is probably going to leave me.
I don't want to give up my fantasies but I feel bad for excluding in my activities. It is just easier I think to do it myself with what I read maybe.

Stop wanking and reading/watching porn for a few weeks and see how you feel. If you can't not wank, at least stop reading/watching porn. It'll be tough at first if you're really that dependent on it, but you don't really have anything to lose by abstaining for a little while.
