I'm perfectly fine reading filthy, shameless RPF* smut, but when it's an intricately plotted, 100k epic love story that might as well have been an original story if not for the names, I just can't. It creeps me out.

*RPF of still-living people anyway, and the recently dead (and by recently, 10 years or so). Other than that, I'm totally fine with it.

I don't think I'd describe all of these as unhealthy?

Everyone likes external validation. Are they afraid they aren't good enough to write anything else, or do they claim they aren't in response to statements that they should write something else? As for "fear" of not being published/people not being interested in original ideas, I'd say that's more a realistic assessment of the odds and amount of effort involved in publishing and marketing original work. Not writing fanfiction won't make someone any less unemployed or depressed. Writing prompt fic is a method of positive social interaction, fine, though granted they shouldn't get their expectations up too much. Internet famous... whatever.

I don't see why any of those reasons would make you feel like an enabler.

I don't remember them ever saying she was supposed to be his age, only that she knew him when he was younger. Nothing in Hannibal is supposed to be 100% realistic and they play pretty fast and loose with time and space, plus she's an amalgam of Murasaki and Murasaki's maid or something, so eh. I was too mesmerized by her beauty to quibble with any of that, holy shit.

Who says you aren't capable? If it's a matter of metabolism or physical condition, that could be an unfortunate hindrance, but you did say that you're making an effort, and that's a lot more than what many people can consistently do.

Just be sure to balance aerobic exercise with anaerobic; strength is great, but can only go so far without proper endurance.

S!because I've always been very vocal about celebrities deserving privacy. Even now I don't think I had a right to know if he didn't want to tell me, I am a complete stranger. It's just a very irrational feeling.

Okay, here's the thing. I got started on conventional fandom in the Friendship is Magic fandom. And in the FIM fandom, it's okay to ship a canon character with an OC. Sometimes quite popular, even. I fnd it bizarre that other fandoms have such a stick up their collective butt about it.

My fandom imploded due to constant drama and canon events.

I tried to stick around, but it became so unpleasant that I couldn’t deal anymore.

So, I stopped posting my fic and meta publicly.

Now I just share it with a couple friends. They all give kind, thoughtful comments, even if they didn't, though, I would still write it and just lock it away for the joy of enjoying this canon.

I’m much happier, but I’m still disappointed that I had to be forced to do this.

I just wanted to enjoy a canon and have a peaceful fandom experience without constant fighting, drama and fighting that reminds me of high school bullshit.

I wish that wasn’t too much to ask.
