Yesterday I was deemed a bad person by people who took one idea I have and used it to pass assumptions and judgments on my character, my mental state and my politics and then pat themselves on the back for pointing out how awful the monolith of people "like me" are.

And I know I shouldn't let that get under my skin, but it still is a day later and all I want to say is your behaviour is no better than Trump's "bad hombres" talk. I hope you realize how hypocritical you are.

Fuck this place sometimes.

The "Jurassic Park fanboys won, nyah nyah! Fuck you, scientists!" nature of most of the reporting of the Tyrannosaurs skin impressions paper yesterday. Guess what? Even the authors of the paper said that the presence of scaly skin on the bottom of the animal doesn't mean the animal didn't have feathers on it's top.

To quote Tom Holtz: "Presence of fuzz or feathers =/= absence of scales. Presence of scales =/= absence of fuzz or feathers.".

A girl in my fandom. She just got under my skin. I've only recently been able to stop hate checking her social media (bc I know that not good for me), but just the idea of her existence annoys me.

I only became familiar with her because we love the same character. I even started to follow her on tumblr, which only lasted a few days because I realized how obnoxious she was.

Guys, guys... I was tidying up my apartment and moving my suitcases from my closet to vacuum behind them (because cat hair omg) and I realized I hadn't unpacked my smaller carryon one since coming back from vacation... which is why I couldn't find my cute green dress from Francesca's or the TJ's seasonings I'd bought (because goddammit Canada, start having Trader Joe's!).

What did you do recently that made you feel as thick as two short planks stacked together?

Read Yahoo comments on articles about rape. Reading Yahoo comments in general is Class A Moron territory, but in this case it's probably the dumbest thing anyone can do ever. Oh, to be able to reach through my computer screen and feed people their own keyboards.



Seriously, though. I've long known that I'm a completely moronic fuckup and a waste of space, but apparently I'm also more of a masochist than I previously thought. Don't be like me, kids! Stay away from Yahoo comments.

Backstory, when getting ready to run the dishwasher I usually like to fill a gallon jug of water first to get the cold water out of the lines so the dishwasher fills with hot water. I use this gallon for watering plants, filling pet water bowls, changing out fishwater, etc. so it doesn't go to waste.

A few weeks ago I filled the jug by the dishwasher, set it on the floor by the dishwasher, left, came back to water all over the floor. Assumed the dishwasher had leaked! The next two times I ran the dishwasher I'd been using the water beforehand and didn't need to fill the jug. Then I filled the jug, set it beside the dishwasher again, and once again water everywhere!
It took a third time and me suddenly noticing that the jug was empty even though I hadn't used it to realize the jug had sprung a leak, not the dishwasher.

What movie fandoms were you surprised to see exist at all? Which died quickly, or still remain? Stuff like MCU or Star Wars is obvious.

I'm thinking in the vein of tumblr...two years later and the Fury Road train keeps going.

I was surprised (but pleased, unlike a secret submitter from yesterday) that The Mummy franchise had such a loyal following. I wish the third movie had been... well, better. I also wish it more movies like it were made, i.e. fun action/adventure stuff that doesn't really take itself too seriously.

I'm amazed at how HUGE the Inception fandom is. Why the hell did that movie make so many people latch onto it? It is a good movie but it isn't like there is anything particularly...fannish about it.
