I mean, I get it, there's a segment of the readership that doesn't care about canon or IC, but there have been times in the past when I've been so annoyed at the "No one writes..." statements that I've changed my icon to a plate of chopped liver.

I like video games, but I only own a pc and there's lots of games I'd be terrible at anyway, so I keep thinking to get into let's plays, but I can't seem to find anyone who strikes the right balance for me between "talks so little I get bored" and "talks constantly on every imaginable subject until I want to throttle them".

i watch k-dramas without interacting with the fandoms so i've never seen comments like that, but it would annoy me because a romance isn't more 'legit' if they have kids. some couples i've thought would make good parents, but i still didn't care to actually see it.

thankfully i seem to have gotten fairly lucky with the shows i've watched as only one has ended with kids, and even then it was a hypothetical child because the show ended with her finding out she was pregnant.

but yeah i'm with you on this in general with shows: really don't care to see kids in the future scenes, the couple being together is more than good enough for me.

I felt terribly conflicted about that bit. On the one hand, it was beautifully shot and acted. On the other hand, it came out of complete nowhere. It could have worked, but they didn't lay the groundwork to make it work.

There was a brief thing about Mizuki’s grandfather having similar strength. The in-universe legend is that he was raised by dolphins. I guess that’s an explanation?

What bothered me was that the main character also gets superspeed. (Powered by horniness, because this author cannot fucking help himself.) Just how common are powers in this setting, anyway?

Anime as a whole tends to be wildly transphobic, so it's not like this particular show stands out in that. One Piece and My Hero Academia have their own transphobic elements, and it's not like those want for popularity in any way.
Honestly, anime that depict trans people in any way that isn't weird and gross and often predatory are rare enough that it's remarkable when one comes along.
I think a lot of anime fans in the west sort of blind themselves to that, though.
