I have that same problem with (some) het too. There are various fics, with even the most quirky, independent female characters, that still try to fit the dynamics of the relationship in a blue or pink box.

Hell, some slash is even having that same problem too, in regards to the stupid idea that someone is the "girl," and someone is the "guy." Blegh!

I agree completely! I've never watched Glee because I thought it was a forward-thinking, well-written TV show; I watch it because it's fun and makes me laugh. If I take it seriously, it's ridiculous and I can't enjoy it. Why is it bad to like things just because they're fun?
