So, I’m a little more than 2 weeks into tracking food and exercise and trying to live healthier. The food is going okay. I don’t always eat the best meals (like, for instance, the dinner that was two gas station hot dogs and a bag of chips), but I’m definitely more aware of what I’m eating and how much I’m eating.

But I’m a little unsure what my stance/goal on desserts should be. I’m not diabetic, and I’m trying to keep it that way, but I also don’t think it’s necessary or at all realistic to adopt a hardline “I must never eat a baked good or bowl of ice cream again!!” attitude. But I also know that, unlike the way I grew up, it is entirely unreasonable for every dinner to end with dessert. (It should be noted that when I say dessert in this context, I’m referring to things like cake, cookies, pie, candy and ice cream, not like, fresh fruit, which everybody needs some of.)

My original thought was that I could have a dessert like that once, one day a week, and if I wanted sweet things beyond that I could have fruit or toast and jam, or also for some reason I include the times when I just want one chocolate-dipped Ritz cracker with my lunch (three crackers, counts as a dessert, though) and the like. And I stuck to that for the first week. The second week, not so much.

So, I know that I want to have more days a week where I don’t have these dessert-type things than days when I do. But I don’t know if I should try to limit it to two days, if three days is still reasonable, if I should say two are okay and only a third if I’ve also got three days of exercise in, or if I really should strive for zero to one day a week.

I'm thinking about the two with a third-day option, at least for now. What do you guys do or think?

Help with a chromebook?

My neighbor has a chromebook that she brought over to get help with, but I don't know anything about chromebooks.

The situation is this: She doesn't have internet, but wants to play games, but there were no games on the computer, like with a windows computer, or whatever. We tried using the chromebook/google play thing, but those require the internet to play the games.

So, does anyone know how to add non-internet needing free games to a chromebook?

I'm not sure how common this is, but I've noticed certain foods have a tendency to give me hiccups. Apples are by far the worst, I can hardly ever eat an apple without getting hiccups for at least a little bit. I have no idea why that happens.

If you frequent tumblr, you've probably heard about the interview PD gave where he said CN cancels shows if they have too many female viewers. (Young Justice, Tower Prep, Green Lantern, and so on) Tumblr has taken to writing a petition for CN to stop ignoring their female fanbase and stop solely marketing to little boys. I...think this is entirely pointless.

In a perfect world shows would be about making great products, and not strictly about making money. But that's not how the world works, and CN is only interested in sales. That's why Johnny Test reruns dominate the network. Do I think it's stupid and sexist as hell? Yes. Do I honestly believe CN will change their ways and take chances with marketing towards a female audience? Not a chance.

Secret 1 - Original fiction writing

I want to write original fiction, but every time I try to come up with a concept I end up breaking it down in my mind to its component pieces. Things like "My Take on the Dresden Files" or "Allen Quartermain meets Lovecraft" or "Dune but set in Twilight Imperium".

Then it feels too much like Alternate Universe or crossover fic, and I just cease to take the idea seriously. I mean, I know "nothing new under the sun" and so on. I could try writing it anyways and then filing off the serial numbers, I guess...
