I'm so sad that crackvan's closing. It's one of the last bits of fandom contact I have left on lj and is a constant source of such great stories that I'd never even think to look for otherwise. :(((

Same, OP. Sure it wasn't as good as the original trilogy, but "not as good as something that's been a major pop cultural touchstone for decades" isn't the same thing as "bad." And in a world where all legends are true, why not grant the same status to urban legends?
