Has there been a fic search thread lately? I've seen rec threads but not searches. If so, post them here! I'll start:

One fic I've been trying to find again is a Snarry where Death has it out for Harry Final Destination-style and Dumbledore gives Snape a time-turner and the job of using it to go back and reverse Harry's death each time it happens, gradually falling in love with him as time goes on. It had a great mix of dark humor and drama to it that I've been craving but not finding in my other fandoms, but sadly I forgot the title, what site I read it on and lost the link.

Got back from Tucson! Thank you everyone for the advice. :D Unfortunately I wasn't able to put a lot of the ideas of where to eat into practice, thanks to my flight schedule getting fucked up, but if I ever go again, I'll definitely be trying to check those places out. :D

I did like it, though. It was a bit browner then I'm used to, but the plants were pretty neat! I mean, I've never seen wild cactus before, so that was cool! The only thing that was annoying was that no one pronounced Oregon correctly, but that's more of a pet peeve than an actual issue. |D

Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice when I posted about it, it did come in handy! :D

Conflicted/insecure about flirting with a guy friend

So, I have been flirting (I guess) with a guy I know recently. I definitely like him as a person, want to get to know him better to see if I like him as something more, so that's all cool. However, my insecurities keep playing up over it.

Basically, I know he has slept with at least two, possibly three of my other friends (casual sex, nothing serious). I don't have a problem with that at all - nor do I have a problem with the idea he wants a casual thing with me. My problem instead is that I feel kind of like he's gone through our other mutual female friends until there's only me left - like I'm the wooden spoon prize, or something. And that's on top of the fact that I'm in my mid-twenties and pretty inexperienced sexually so I don't even know if I'd be comfortable doing anything with him if it got to that point. Ack.

So F!Sers, any advice for getting over your insecurities about dating/sex? And/or any or your own insecurities you'd like to bitch about? If you don't have any, just bragging about how much of a sex goddess/god you are is good too!

What annoying fandom things are happening on your dash?

Every now and again people on your dash switch fandoms or interests. and sometimes you don't want to unfollow either because they are a friend, they post something you love (art, fic, whatever), or they don't post that much of that annoying thing.

But this means you see other fandom drama sometimes. and that can be annoying or hilarious depending on how many times you see it.

What have you seen??

So how was your day?

I had a very eventful day. Most notably, my dog got loose, and then she came back.

My mom and I were walking in our neighborhood to the house my parents are going to be moving into in a few months, a couple blocks away from where we currently live. We were walking our younger dog, a greyhound, who gets daily walks in the afternoon, and we let her run around in the backyard for a bit. I went to go put her leash back on her, and...she was on the wrong side of the fence.

Greyhounds are sight hounds and can run very, very fast, and they don't really have a homing instinct like many dogs do. You are not ever supposed to let them off their leash unless it's in a fenced enclosure (a reason why a big fenced-in yard is a must for my parents). My mom had previously inspected the fence to be sure it was sound before letting her loose in the backyard, but there was a large pile of logs where part of the fence was supposed to be. We don't know how it got there, as it wasn't there before (we'll be looking into that).

I yelled for my mom and climbed over the logs after her, yelling her name, but she was completely out of sight as soon as she went around the nearest house. Mom ran back home, got the car, and we started looking for her everywhere, calling people who could help. My dad and sister drove to the new house and, amazingly, when they got there, some 15 minutes after she got loose, the dog had re-appeared in the backyard. We think she was just wandering (rather than running after an animal, which is what can cause greyhounds to move very far very fast and get lost or killed) and wandered back to see where we are. She must have been puzzled when we weren't there...

We are so lucky. I was very scared. We all were. I'm glad she's safe and sound.

In other news, when we got back after all that, I found that the book I ordered came in the mail! I'm FINALLY reading A Memory of Light, yes, more than a year after it was published OTL. I'm...not entirely sure my body is ready for this. o.O
