So, I got my free Sims 2: Ultimately edition. Open for Business is new to me, and I can't seem to figure out if there's ever a reason to go to the shopping district if I don't own a business. Like, I had one character visit a bakery, but it was clear to me if she could buy, like, just a muffin to enjoy or if I'd be buying the display case. Which wouldnt be very useful. Can someone more familiar fill me in?

I had foot surgery yesterday

I got 4 screws removed from my foot yesterday and I am in a ridiculous amount of pain. I'm laying sideways in bed because my pain meds make me crazy nauseous and this is the only position that helps.

I'm running the free trial version now, I'm happy with it, but that shit's just way too expensive.

So, I'm looking for something that can record/edit sound recording with relatively high quality, just by attaching an average headset to your comp. Basically input will be my voice, output should be my voice on MP3. I don't need anything fancy effect-wise, just something that's decent in quality and doesn't have much static. Any ideas?

So today, I had a bad case of acid indigestion due to stress (it just came out of the blue, and I was nauseous all day long) and work piled up exponentially at work. Needless to say, I've been overwhelmed a fair bit.

Dad comes home with dinner, and proceeds to tell me that he made his own copy of the 'Awesome Mix vol. 1' from 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (because his massive hype for it is both adorable and funny) and that he also made a copy for me to listen to as well. That really made my day a whole lot better.

What about you, F!S? Anything happen -big, little, major, or inconsequential- that made your day just a little bit brighter today?

This movie was...interesting. If you're a fan of French animation, I'd totally recommend it. It's beautiful, and the imagery is very creative. This movie isn't for anyone who likes happy endings, however. This movie is depressing. Also, despite how they look like children, I would not show this to a child. There's prostitutes, violence, slightly sexually explicit song lyrics, and so on.

If you enjoy bittersweet stories with a ton of strange/pretty imagery, then you'd probably enjoy this film.

Hey all! Recs are technically still open, though we already have a huge number of books (like 18 I think) that are going on the poll for September. However, if there's one you really want to see, go ahead and rec it.

I think maybe for October I will put up a cap - 15 or 20 (what do you think?) - so we don't get too many to go through. Also maybe cap recs from each person at 1 or 2? that's hard to keep track of what with anons, though. Thoughts?

Poll will open on Thursday and stay open for a week. :) I'll probably close it on Wednesday the 7th because it's an off day for me and it'll give us 7 days to have the poll.
