Two of mine are both Celtic Thunder videos; the first is Stand and Deliver, because holy shit that outfit. It's just so ridiculous, especially with that hair! But Look at Me takes the cake. There's just something so delightfully awkward about it. It features the guy from Stand and Deliver in that same outfit, and a kid who looks way too young, but has a voice that doesn't quite match. I think I almost ship the two characters because I'm lame sorry.

But seriously, "[Ladies] could eat you for supper/and spit you right out in the street" while awkward touching happens? The whole song is about how this kid shouldn't go for the women because they won't like him, it's just so ridiculous, and they make such dumb faces, I love it.

I have a new, fairly expensive formal dress. It's dry-clean only, I suspect because of the beading on it (it's made out of polyester, so probably not because of the material). I'm wearing it tomorrow. I'm going to be outside briefly, getting from the car to the venue. It's likely to be raining. Do I need to be concerned about the dress getting wet? Thanks for answering!

So, for a work of fiction I'm wondering - where do you find these things. For example, what were the most popular names in the 60's? Most popular hobbies in the '70's? Common products one would use then - washing products, but even car brands etc. Anyone know?

I have old Word .doc files - 2009 Word. When I wrote them, all the italic and bold stuff I did re: keyboard shortcuts, so instead of the html stuff < i > and like, I just did ctrl i and ctrl b for italics and bold.

Now, i'm trying to post this stuff on AO3, and it sees *none* of that code. And when I hand-code the < i > stuff in, it *adds more*, so by the end of the .doc i've got < i > six or eight times before and after every paragraph, and i have no idea how to make it stoooooooop. Rich Text doesn't seem to do anything but add a billion bits of code but still *no italics and bolds* where it should be.

The opposite of yesterdays!

I watched From Dusk Till Dawn yesterday because my sister had been hassling me about it. And even though I HATE Quentin Tarantino I actually really, really enjoyed the movie. Clooney was awesome. And Salma Hayek was just WOW!

This is the second thing she has recommended that I have resisted watching but ended up enjoying (first being Breaking Bad). She may start getting full of herself.

Fictional Paranormal Investigation

Secret #1 reminded me that I've been looking for fictional stories involving paranormal investigation for a while. You know, the ones where ghosts and psychic powers are absolutely real, and there's this person/group of people wandering around investigating and solving problems with them. Anyone got any recs?

I've seen Ghostbusters, obviously, and things like Stephen King's 'Rose Red', the anime 'Ghost Hunt' (one of my favourites), and you can probably put 'Mononoke' and 'Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales' here as well. My sister recently showed me 'The Conjuring'. Things in that vein are very welcome.

Yesterday was odd and adorable. One of our dogs was throwing a fit at Mom & Dad's yesterday. He does this about a few things every once in a while, but this went on for a really long time so Dad went to investigate. It turned out the dog was understandably unhappy about a pot bellied pig who refused to get off the old dog bed we leave out there for the dog. We got the pig penned up so he wouldn't run off,(He wasn't very happy about it.) and started calling the neighbors. It turns out he belongs to the neighbors to the north of us, he gets out all the time, but this is really really far for him to go. Even though it was getting dark they decided to come get him. Apparently he sleeps with a blanket every night, and they didn't want him to have to go without it.

Advice about Birth Control

My niece has moderate autism and has started getting her period. My sister has talk to the gynecologist about different birth control options and has been looking around on the net. Was wondering if anyone had personal experience with various methods and could recommend?

The two biggest concerns are how often it needs to be taken (which is why we are shying away from pills) and if it can lessen or stop her period from happening (the blood terrifies her even after explanations).

We are leaning towards a IUD but neither of us have experience with one. Thoughts?

re: condom breakage, ive been putting lube on his dick before putting the condom on and that's seemed to help, though i also switched condom types/brands and the same time so idk which part helped (probably both). and i picked up a pack yesterday that we tried out and he came with it on for the first time so i guess pressure wasnt too much of an issue after all. but anyway i appreciate the suggestions, i think the friction was just too much without the additional lube. no breaks since taking the extra precautions.

F!S, I want to watch a certain episode of Gilmore Girls but I can't remember the name of the episode or what season it takes place in. What is the episode where Lorelai goes on a date with someone (Jason/"Digger"?) to a fancy restaurant but they leave and then go to a small market (not Doose's Market, I don't think it was even in Stars Hollow) and have a much better time just picking random things that they eat outside the market. They also get things like toilet paper.

How do you make it not taste like disgusting flavored hot water?

I ask because I stopped drinking soda about a year ago and now only drink water. But sometimes, you just want something with some flavor. And people always talk about how awesome tea is. But the few times I have tried making it, it was disgusting. I tried some kind of fruit sampler box from walmart (cheap stuff but don't really want to bust out the big bucks on something I might not like).

Do i need to invest in a tea infuser and tea pot to see if I like it??

Asking for a discount doesn't seem to be what the OP is talking about, though.

To me, the quote in the secret doesn't suggest an attempt to strike a bargain or offer a lower sum in the hope the artist will take it. Since the quote does say "I love your work" so in this instance I would't assume it was a dig at the artist, e.g. "Honey, you're not good enough to be charging so much." However, without knowing the price or what the art looks like, we can't be sure if the price really is too high and the artist has no idea (might be too new at it to realize no one is going to buy at that price), of if the person quoted is actually the one who doesn't know and is used to artists who under-price their work or who are in a lower talent bracket and this person assumes all artists should be charging rates within a ceratin fairly low range regardless of talent, quality, or amount of labor involved.

(I've met a lot of people who think particular items should always cost within a certain range because tat's what they see at the places they typically shop, so when they encounter a high-end or artsy hand-made version, they squawk at the price because in their mind a table/rug/stuffed animal should't cost that much and the price of materials and labor are irrelevant.)
