More emphasis on the love this time. For all that it was a formulaic lcd show, I watched me some scooby doo. And this movie did it right! The first one, with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Matthew Lillard. SCOOBY DOO!


Then... This is the single greatest fuckup of an adaptation I have ever seen. Worse then Inspector Gadget. Worse then Chipmunks. Worse then fucking THE LAST AIRBENDER. JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS.

A good movie after to wash that crap down! The Wachoski Sisters never got that DBZ project they wanted, but they did get this other anime, and made one of the most underappreciated adaptations ever! Speed Racer!

I'd really appreciate you all sending your positive thoughts or prayers or whatever the way of one of my very close friends and her family. I just found out that she's been hiding the fact that she has brain cancer which has metastasized to her lungs. The doctors are still fighting, but right now the prognosis doesn't look good.

I'm still in shock. I had no idea. Not even sure how to react or what to say to her when we talk. She was hiding it from her friends, but her mother called and told us because she thought we should know.

So I've got an ocarina I've been trying to learn how to play.

The problem is, I live in an apartment, and walls tend not to be thick in these places, so I refrain from practicing here for fear of pissing everyone off. Yes, I know technically they can't kick you out for playing during the daytime, but I work during the day and don't want to risk disrupting someone's dinner or early bedtime.

Ocarinas can get pretty loud the higher the note. Anyone have any suggestions on where/how to get some practice time in? ("friend's house" is not really an option as they also live in apartments)

I had a friend over and I wanted some orange juice. I usually do 50% orange juice and 50% seltzer, because orange juice itself is too sweet for me. My friend watched me pour in the seltzer and gasped in horror. Apparently this was horrible. And then I added ice, which made it even worse than it previously was!!

I have depression. I've been "managing" it by myself for several years. I recently entered grad school and the stress is...a lot. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this. My finals are coming up and I have been in a severe state of depression for several weeks. I don't remember it being this severe in years .

It's not even like I'm sad, but more like I can't physically make myself do things and I'm constantly suicidal.

I honestly am lost on what to do. I have been slacking on all of my work and that's making it worse too. I thought of visiting a psychiatrist but I don't think I have the time or mental energy, and it could cause problems in my future career. My grad school offers no mental health counseling. Advice?
