I...really did not like this episode. I was a little uneasy with the pregnancy plot to start with, but then they turned a major thing like that into a filler episode. So...Jake's pups are now older than he is, what? It was only a few days. And if his pups are older than he is than how old is Lady? She must be insanely old compared to Jake if they age that quickly.

CONTRAST STREAM 1: JUDGEMENT

Dredd is out on Blu-Ray and DVD. Not getting this movie is 3 years in the iso cubes, creep!

But it's 5 years if you liked Judge Dredd more. 10 if you thought this was a remake!

It's not. It's just drawing from the same universe. And here's where it gets interesting.

Judge Dredd looks right. It has all the little background details like they are in the comics. Big sets that do those comic pages justice.

It is also a steaming pile of dogshit. Not unlike mario brothers, the background people made a great world... and nobody of value was put in said world. Stallone and Scheider ruin this movie for you.

Dredd, by contrast, was cheaply made. Corners have been cut. It's grungy and in the right ways, but this is not the Mega City one of the comics. It's a pretty damn good reinterpretation, but this was people making due.

It is also a wonderfully good movie. Not by contrast. Not even if your a fan of the comic. It's good because it is good.

The feminists here will like it because this is the best female protagonist in an action movie you've seen in years. Also the best female ANTAGONIST.

Karl Urban understands Dredd and does the character justice.

So... why take my word for it... LETS WATCH BOTH.

Not really shit stream since there's a good movie, but we'll do it like one. 6pm EST, I start Judge Dredd. Then we move on to Dredd! I'll also invite 4chan again, since it's a /co/ relevant night (this actually went without a hitch last time I did it, other then a few swear words)

I want people to stop looking for the worst possible interpretation ever of every scene, episode, sneak peek and promo just so they can use it as fuel to hate on the show and its creator.

Though, I did get a kick out of "Why doesn't Andrew Marlowe light the scenes better?!!!!" Uh, because he's the creator and a writer, not the person who handles the lights. Fucking moron.

(Sorry, it's just that Tumblr is apparently the only place where there is Castle squee, and it's been a little light.)

I was dwelling on The Killers' song Andy You're a Star (about a teenage crush on a member of the wrestling team) by Brandon Flowers, who says it was a true experience of his but doesn't identify as any flavor of queer. It got me thinking, how do you FS and people in general feel about straight or otherwise not-quiltbag people writing and making quiltbag media? Is it supportive and inclusive, is it baiting, is it Othering, is it appropriation, so on? Of course individual examples and their overall tone will differ greatly, but I'm asking a more general opinion of this phenomenon.

Aw. This post is cute. I love swimming but I haven't in a very long time. Super casual swimming when I had a gym membership, nothing serious. I've been thinking about it lately. I'm always looking for aerobic activity that will keep me interested. (Interested means motivated and I get bored easily.)

I make up fanfic when I'm exercising in other ways, yes.

Off topic slightly:

I used to play "Save the drowning characters" with my brothers, which was a game involving Hot Wheels cars crashing (being thrown in the deep end) resulting in efforts to retrieve the car in a certain time limit with limitations set (swim from this part of the pool, find the car with your eyes closed, etc.).
