when you are in the mood to read OTP fic, what kind do you generally like? are you a PWP/smut fan? do you like story fic with a bit of shipping on the side? what's your general style f!s!

i find most of the fandoms i have been in, ship fic seems to center just on sex sex sex. which i don't care much about. my favorite fics are ones where my OTP is present and have romantic interactions but there's some kind of bigger plot or mystery to the story. so mostly....i end up reading gen fic and shipping between the lines.

Now that halloween's come and gone, my friends are all laughing over the annual "tell your kid you ate their halloween candy and videotape their reaction" thing, and idk, it just really rubs me the wrong way. It just seems unnecessary and cruel to lie to your kid and purposefully manipulate their emotions, saying things you know will upset them, and then laughing at their reaction for a minute of fame? And people are like 'wow those kids are being so bratty!' and yes they are, but they're children, some of them are like three or four years old, and you're telling them you ate their candy without asking, and then rubbing it in by saying "oh but it was so yummy" or whatever and ughhh those videos just make me so mad! Everyone I know seems to love them so I just wanted to rant somewhere. So what do you guys think of them?

Okay, why do some people seem to have no boundaries, no ability to listen, and an endless capacity to be noisy and annoying?

Like, I'll be in the school library trying to do work and one of them sitting next to me will try to start a pointless small-talk conversation. And I'll say I'm busy, and they'll say "okay, I'll leave you alone" and then five minutes later "sooo... what class are you doing this for?" Grrr.

Or the time I was on the train and this guy plopped down next to me, put his arm around me, and went "how you doing?" My friend told him to leave me alone, and he said he hadn't touched me (he had) and I had to move to another seat and then we went to a different train car when the train stopped.

Then there are the ones on the train, usually teenage or young men, with iPods, who sing/rap LOUDLY along with whatever is playing on the iPod. Idiot, the purpose of those things is to make it possible for you to listen to music in public WITHOUT bothering everyone else.

I even saw a group of people with an iPod try to play some music without the headphones on the bus, and get mad that they couldn't make it really loud. It was loud enough that they could hear it, but they wanted the whole bus to. The whole time, they were obnoxious, loud, and rowdy, and kept bugging specific people, like asking some guy to borrow his hat, and talking openly about me when I went up to check that I had gotten on the right bus before it left.

And sometimes they get really offended when I try to brush them off, or yell crap like "ohhh you don't like black people" when I wouldn't walk across a dark empty parking lot by myself to go talk to him (like I would have done that if he weren't black?).

I just don't get why some people have to be so noisy, and feel entitled to other people's time. Like they have no shame.
