Isn't it amazing that fix-it-fic has a legit patron saint?

That said, the only times I can remember being legitimately upset about something happening in canon, it's all been for ship-related reasons. If endings make me sad, it's always been in ways that make sense.

Unless you count things like Tsubasa Chronicles and xxxHolic, but in both of those cases the stories had gone beyond ridiculous and made me start ignoring canon at way earlier points.

I mostly agree. I don't think it's actually bad for her to do. But it just sort of... doesn't matter. And it's a poor substitute for actually putting it in the movie or the text itself, which she could easily do - they're still making the dang things. It's definitely not unique to her, either.

And I know some people are going to argue that there was subtext in the books, and like... no. There were things that were entirely ambiguous that you could choose to read as Dumbledore being gay, and I did read them that way at the time. But that doesn't even rise to the level of subtext or coding, let alone text.

At the end of the day it's her world and she can do what she wants with it but I also understand why fans find it frustrating.

I still haven't seen the Good Omens TV show but that image is REALLY selling it to me for some reason. Looks like a lot of fun. Read the book years ago and enjoyed it.

I'm actually really excited to see what the new Jafar will bring to the table. I love his overall look (the outfit is gorgeous) and Marwan Kenzari has a certain kind of presence that might add an extra level of intrigue to the role, from what I've seen of his earlier work.

I'm sure that what you say is the intention, but it was really, really clumsily phrased in a way that makes it entirely too easy to interpret it the other way and I don't think you can really blame anyone for doing so. It's on the people who made it that way, not the fans.
