So I just heard about this, and completely agree. I know how hard that will hit them. I hated working that day, because they were such assholes about it. "It doesn't matter if you don't have a car and get here by a bus and train. Carpool or you're fired" I had to take an eleven pm bus Thanksgiving night and then wait in the store until four am. I was then assigned a broken register (The plastic strip that hugs the register was broken and jagged) While going around the register to ring up a customer's large item my leg snagged on the jagged edge and ripped a gash into my leg from almost my panty area to my knee. This also ripped a hole that long in my pants. I tied my sweater around my leg and waited a good fourty minutes before a second manager agreed to come help me. The first just laughed about it and walked off.

I also had to work nine and a half hours on Christmas eve, and then the following weeks I worked three four hour shifts. Fun stuff.

Rolling with the movie theme from yesterday

I saw Vampire's Assistant - why did they change so much from the book? I'm not talking about changing up the story past a point (thought it was not very strong), just why these extra randoms and not using the correct terminology and lore? I'm actually pleasantly surprised the war was put into action.

What is the deal there.

Not meaning to sound racist, it's just I've seen more of this type of interracial relationship then any other combined, and I live in a really diverse city.

Some of the feminist blogs I follow have done articles suggesting its teh evil menz taking advantage of those poor submissive uneducated women, except this doesn't really strike me as the case, and sounds awfully paternalistic.

Is it just because they're more culturally similar, a colonial history promoting it as okay making it more acceptable, what?

I feel so left out!

I've been watching Blackadder. Now I have the most ridiculous Lion King fanon where Zazu had his own Percy(an Ostrich), and Baldrick(a tortoise), and they spent the entirety of Scar's reign secretly trying to depose him and not end up dead. They got discovered though, and that was why Zazu was in that rib cage prison. Since it is the Lion King I think "Percy", and "Baldrick" escaped.

It sounds so stupid, but I wanted to share it anyway.
