For all you original artists/writers out there, how do you deal with thieves? I write original prose and post it on a private tumblr, and I'd love to get some kind of feedback one day... but the problem is that I'm worried that once stuff is out in public, it's more liable to just be copied and pasted and someone else claims it as theirs. I wrote fanfic once upon a time and I wasn't paranoid then, but I feel a lot more protective over my own stuff... I follow a bucketload of artists on tumblr and love seeing their original content and I've really liked the trend of people being conscious about art theft, but I'm not sure if such an awareness is around for writing.

Anyway tl;dr for those who post original content online, how did you get over the paranoia of other people plagiarizing you?

So I finally have a steady job and have my finances worked out. I want to start donating to some charities but I have no idea where to start! I don't want to end up donating to a charity that uses most of its proceeds for publicity and paying the CEO.

I don't really know what I want to donate money towards (probably animals and children).

Also, do you think it is better to do 2-3 small donations to different organizations or one big donation to one?

Why do feel this way

Why do the little mistakes I make cause me to feel like a horrible failure? My life is actually coming together. I'm in school. I have a job. I have career goals. I have a summer internship that will be amazing.

And yet I'm feeling like a failure because I made some stupid financial decisions and still haven't quite mastered the art of adult finances yet. Not even a big deal, just miscalculated on my loans a bit and forgot to pay one medical bill. But my brain is blowing it way out of proportion and telling me that I'm a failure as a person and am never going to amount to anything and can't do anything right.

Why can't I have perspective?
