If someone's been a bad friend or romantic partner to you and you're breaking it off, are you morally obligated to give them an explanation?

Thinking about how a lot of romance novels feature the dark and broody guy. I personally think I get fictional crushes on a lot of characters, who in reality, I would not want to get within ten feet of.

So think of your top fictional crushes, and be honest! Are they actually someone you'd have a relationship with? Do you think you can to romanticize traits in fiction that would be extremely unattractive irl, or do your fictional crushes pretty much have qualities that you'd actually look for?

I was a casual fan of Yu-Gi-Oh when I was a little kid, and a handful of recent discussion threads here inspired me to start re-watching the show. A few episodes in I had a pseudo-epiphany where I realized that for the first time, I was watching this show as someone who is older than most of the main cast, whereas when I originally watched it I was younger than any of them.

Can't remember exactly which episode it was, just that at some point the realization sank in that I now view these characters as young whippersnappers when I used to see them as older and more mature than myself. That, combined with the realization that, "Holy shit I'm closer in age to Pegasus than I am to Yugi!" gave me this sort of... I guess you'd call it dissonance? I don't even know. It felt weird.

Also, I can't take Kaiba seriously anymore. You expect me to believe that this kid is running a friggin' multi-million dollar corporation all by himself? LOL no.
