Tamora Pierce Thoughts/Secret

Hi, I know this should be in the form of a secret, but I could not find a suitable picture that would fit all these words. So I'm just gonna post the text here. I'm sorry if this breaking any rules:

I think Tamora Pierce’s work has suffered lately because she’s focusing on issues and not characters/plot. Tricksters seemed to me like she really just wanted to write about spy networks and countries with strong racial tensions. I hated the characters and the plot bored me. Provost’s Dog struck me as her wanting to write about a female police officer, and so she found a setting to suit it. I loved the characters in those books but the plots were over-long and boring in places, and the second two books were strongly lacking on the character development she had in her earlier series. I’m getting scared this is going to bleed into the Circle Universe. I’ve been waiting for years for the War Story with Briar, Rosethorne, and Evvy, and I’m worried she’s just gonna use the book to talk about her opinions on war while neglecting the characters, all of whom are some of my favorites.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Tammy, but I just can’t say her books are as amazing as they used to be.

Gaaaah I hate it when my friends crosspost on DW and LJ, keep bitching that LJ sucks ass and they hate it but still only user LJ for commenting and they make no effort to complete their migration to DW. Seems a tad bit hypocritical and it makes me irrationally aaaangry.

Henrietta, my eight year old black lab mix, died sometime in the night. She was in perfect health yesterday, wrestling with the puppy and greeting people at the door. Apparently she just had a heart attack in the middle of the night. Mom and dad woke up to her cold and stiff.

Forced outing. Poly+bi+conservative family=a whole lot of hurt.

The siblings of one of my metamours have found out that she is polyamorous (and also bi) and are forcing her to come out to their very conservative christian parents. By doing this they are also essentially cutting her out of celebrating their father's birthday; not by actually stating it as such, but by being judgemental assholes so that she simply cannot cope with attending. The relationship we have between all of us and our mutual partner makes her happy (by her own admission), but the family says it's destructive and deviant. Kind of ironic, seeing that she has told us that it is the oppressiveness of family and its values which hurts her the worst.

Beyond being there for her with a shoulder to cry on and listen, I don't know what to do. It's frustrating to want to barge in there and give them what for, and knowing that I can't/it wouldn't help any.

Today is pretty important in Norway it is "Tv Aksjonen" (The Norwegian version of Comic Reliefish)

We give all the money (this year) to Amnesty's campaign to stand up against injustice. And our Radio Channel just got in 100.000£ earmarked to Amnesty's work to help Gay, Lesbians, bisexual and Transgender people around the world! And 18.000.000£ at last count for the TV part of it.

Which made me think, do your country do anything similar?

Yes, the questions are dumb, but I'm mostly bullshitting this anyway. I only have to write up a page-long report on the answers I get, so it didn't need to go too in-depth or anything.

I'm sure I won't get many answers from here though, so it'd be even more helpful if anyone could point me towards other places I could post it? Online game forums seem like the most obvious answer, but I can't help but think this kind of thing would be against the rules in most places. I don't have any followers on tumblr to spread this around either, so that's a no go.

The worst part is it's due on the 25th, so I have to have all the answers by the 24th so I can write up the report. ;_;

How are secrets posted?

I'm really confused by the posting system. I submitted a few secrets, back to back, and two of them were posted on separate posts (the newer one before the older one) and now today my last one wasn't included. Is it more of a pick & choose sort of a thing? Or are there really that many secrets that get submitted that it truly could have been pushed back another day? Not upset, just confused.

We take the total number of secrets for the week then divide by 7, and that's the number that gets posted daily. Also, they are not posted in order: we go through them picking at random, so it's not like one person that submitted 10 secrets in a row or something gets a whole post to themselves ('cause that'd be pretty boring, don't you think?).
