Let me preemptively put "But it IS canon!"

But there are some things that just don't seem right, even if, yes, it /is/ canon. It may ring false to the ear. Anyone else feel this way, I'm sure you do.

How the fuck was the mysterious Time Lord woman in the Doctor Who episode "The End of Time" not Susan?

I mean, come ON, there was that scene where Wilf asks the Doctor "That woman, who was she?" and the Doctor gives Wilf a look, and then meaningfully looks right over to Donna - y'know, Wilf's granddaughter - with the camera even following his gaze over to Donna as well, and then he looks meaningfully back at Wilf again without giving any more of an answer. I thought the only way the scene could be more explicit about its meaning is if it had the Doctor literally say "she was my granddaughter" out loud, but no according to RTD it was the Doctor's mother. Wat.

Pretty much all of .hack//LINK, with its horrible fake-memory-clones of the series' past heroes. Fortunately it was never released outside Japan, so it's not too hard to pretend it doesn't exist.

She spent the whole last episode trying to help Troy win his "boyfriend" back from someone he met on the internet, while using the word boyfriend twice, and no one involved disputed the word boyfriend, or has ever disputed the term boyfriend when related to Troy and Abed.'

Troy and Britta aren't compatible and all of their relationshippy interactions are terribly unhealthy. JUST LET IT DIE FOR EVERYONE'S SAKE.

How so many witches and wizards in the Wizarding World seem so completely clueless about Muggle things. It's canon that a lot of them didn't know how to dress like muggles, but then, the vast majority of them lived among muggles. The only all-magical settlement in Britain was Hogsmeade, and it doesn't strike me as a big place. Their only hospital, bank, and government building all reside in London. So really, unless they never left their houses, there's no way they wouldn't know what was going on in the muggle world. Not to mention it's like their Prime Directive to fit in and keep their world secret, so it doesn't even make sense that they'd keep up centuries-old fashion because it seriously risks outing themselves.

And that's not even counting muggleborns who would likely not give up their muggle culture and clothes in favour of unflattering, archaic robes. I can't imagine even the pureblood kids would be keen on robes (except for people like the Blacks). It'd be like teens these days going out of their way to dress like they're in choir all the time.

Olivia Benson is straight. idgaf what the writers or MH say, I will never not believe she's bisexual.

Also pretty much everything that's happened since Warren Leight took over, especially wrt recurring characters from earlier in the series. He seems to take great pleasure in destroying characters he didn't create.

Supernatural after season 3, because I think that the finale would have been a good place to stop and I didn't really care for the angel storyline. I just think of the rest as an alternate universe.

I refuse to accept that the Doctor Who episode "Love and Monsters" was anything but a self-insert whump fanfic Elton wrote to cope with his memories of meeting the Doctor as a kid the night his mother was killed.

Also the "Let's Kill Hitler" line "well, she's been brainwashed -- plus, she's a woman!" Not because I was all that offended by it, tbh, but more because it doesn't make sense even if you do think the Doctor's the type of person who'd succumb to that level of pettiness because he was panicking over getting poisoned: Time Lords don't have sexism. Putting aside the fact that show is in fact written by human beings (some of whom were from the 1960s), when it comes to actual explicitly sexist statements of opinion stated by the character in-universe, he doesn't have any engrained sexist tendencies or stereotypes to succumb to. Unless he's borrowing human prejudices because he finds them funny to say. Which makes no sense and would be OOC for different reasons.

He'd be more likely to make some offensive-to-Time-Lords comment. Like...I dunno, how these young whippersnappers who have only regenerated twice are so immature their brains can't handle post-regeneration stress, hmph, grumble, damn kids, get off my lawn and stop poisoning me. Or something. (Time Lords do seem like a species whose society would be incredibly ageist.)

The New 52. Except for Batwoman and Animal Man (they're pretty good). The rest of that godawful reboot can go fuck itself.

The Gul Dukat is emissary to the pah wraiths NONSENSE in DS9 season 7. 99% of Dukat's arc that season is just plain awful. I don't mind the idea of doing something more actively evil with Kai Winn (the queen of passive aggression), but Dukat posing as a Bajoran is just repellant and insulting to the audience. Personally, I'd have tried mixing Kai Winn and Section 31 before ever thinking of putting her and Dukat on the same side. Just... nope nope nope.

That Ruka is canonically male in the final timeline of Steins;Gate. In one timeline, Ruka's male-bodied and slightly uncomfortable but not entirely with being read as feminine; in the other, Ruka's female-bodied and still slightly uncomfortable with being read as feminine. Would have been awesome if we had never known in the final timeline, or if 5pb. had been braver and made Ruka nonbinary.

When it was revealed in Pokémon BW2 that Ghetsis ISN'T N's father, my reaction was WHAT. Even more so when they revealed that he apparently found N in the woods as a boy.

I don't get why they'd make two people have similar characteristics (tall, pale, green haired) if they're not going to be related. That's fucked up.

Wash's death at the end of Serenity. Part of it is "noooo Wash," but mostly because I think Joss Whedon put it in solely because he needed someone to die, and I hate things that scream "cheap emotional punch."

Also a lot of the Last of the Timelords in the sense that the two episodes leading up to it are some of my favorite of New Who, and that last one of the trilogy just falls so flat to me.

Chakotay/Seven. Dear fuck, that pairing was stupid as hell, even by Voyager standards, and I say that as a fan of the show. It's not as stupid as say, Threshold, but it's a pretty goddamn close second. On the other hand, hating this pairing is about the only thing J/7 and J/C fans have in common, even if we have vastly different reasons for our rage, so I guess one could argue that at the very least it promotes inter-ship harmony after a fashion.

Oh man I hope you post this again tomorrow. Anyway:

1. Season 8 of That '70s Show. I hated almost every minute of it. Honestly, I didn't like Season 7 much either, but at least Donna wasn't all over new Mary Sue guy and Jackie wasn't having weird relationships with Fez.

2. The nature of River Song. If I can just ignore basically everything we learn about her backstory, I still love her. I don't even mind that she was the Doctor's assassin and a Pond baby. But everything else...

3. What happened to the Ponds. I'd like to just sort of end it off with Power of Three, yeah.

4. ME3's ending. I'd like to believe there's an alternative available where if you had full Galactic Readiness and did all your things right you could have just killed the damn Reapers at a high mortality rate. Or, hell, I'd take Synthesis not being stupid.

LOST: In the end John Locke didn't matter and he was loser and Ben Linus never really had a plan he was just a weasel.

Ichigo is part Quincy - I've always been "meh" on the Quincy's and am leaning toward dislike since their introduction as neo-nazi's, so I'm really not liking this new 'twist'. Quincy Ichigo = a no for me. If we needed a Quincy character to be central to a Quincy arc Kubo could have elevated Ishida to be equal to Ichigo in the advance of the plot. *still hoping Ishida is going to get his due time this arc*

Ichigo isn't a shinigami - that 'revelation' last chapter is just impossible to accept for me. I could have accepted he embodies every species ever, but for him to be flat out *not* a shinigami (and to say he might never be able to return to soul society) just doesn't fit. All of his abilities and powers up to now have been shinigami or closely imitating his shinigami powers, which it's been explicitly shown he shares in common with his shinigami father (who he's also been repeatedly shown to favor in looks and personality as well).
