Mine used to be the Watchmen kink meme. There wasn't a whole lot of variety, which was a bummer, but it always felt so friendly and some really neat stories came out of it. And I was really amused by the trend of turning Rorschach into stuff.

The Mass Effect one was really good for the loongest time, despite occasional drama, but that happens in all of them no doubt.

But now I think it's dying. :( The last fillathon kind of sucked and we've gotten way too many trolls lately which didn't help.

I saw a fandom rumor on tumblr that would have literally made me squee if my parents weren't asleep in the next room. Fve minutes later, I find out it's fake. Lesson learned: don't read tumblr because there will be rumors that make you squee and then turn out to be fake :(

Why do they keep using this line, and why do people keep falling for it?

Do consumers of porn want to believe some bent narrative that the actors are "normal," and that "normal" means "doing this 'cause I have to right now but I'm totally 'bettering' myself in a socially acceptable way?"

It's just something that interests me.

Honestly, I always assumed this had less to do the with the consumers and more to do with how society views porn actors - and how it'd view them even worse if they said something different.

Not to mention the industry's reaction if they said "This is literally the only job I can get to pay the bills. I don't want to be here." "I'm in college and broke" implies that at least there's some choice and the actors could easily walk away if they aren't into it...but it's not usually that easy, depending on the person's exact circumstances [and that's why there's a group started by a former industry actor to help other's get out of that business.]

Note: Not saying that all adult actors don't like their job - but from what I've heard a large number of them don't, and don't actually realize what it's like working there until it's too late to get out easily.

I disagree with 19. There were shipping potential in MoS. At least a couple. The main one being Jor-El/Clark which I honestly wasn't expecting. o_o (And this is from someone who ships quite a few 'cesty pairings.)
