I just find it...baffling.

I have a friend like this. And yes, this is a grown woman.

She had a relationship with a man who cheated with her on his wife when his marriage started to go sour. Which in my eyes is a huge red flag, becuse hey: here you have a certified cheater.

Anyway, years of promises of leaving his wife, keeping her hanging on: she buys his bullshit.

Finally he does separate from his wife but now, surprise surprise, he cheated on my friend with someone else.


She says she now definitely broke up with him, but thy still went to an event together, talking on at least a friendly basis - but the girl he cheated with was also there and it HER my friend won't speak to (but she's perfectly fine with talking to her cheating bf).

Now, I think monogamy's overrated but that's another story. But these are people who do want it and clearly see sex with someone else as BAD.

See, I like my friend and feel sort of sorry for her - but on the other hand I feel like everything that happened could have been expected.

It's not so much advice as a rant - I honestly just don't get it, why women(and some men I guess) are angry at the other person, but are ready to forgive they cheating-ass partner...

A conversation I had yesterday reminded me of the old SNES Lion King video game. When I saw videos of it, I was hit with happy nostalgia. But as I thought about it more, I remembered how much I HATED the game. I was no good at it (those fucking giraffes) and the game frustrated me.

Anyone else have stuff like this (books/movies/games/events/etc)?

I'll start.

A whole clan in a game I play has been convinced I'm a lesbian for three weeks. I'm not a lesbian. I'm not even female. It's not my fault they think so, though. I found out today because one of the clan members whispered me to let me know that I didn't need to 'pretend to be male' in clan chat since they're 'all girls here,' the clan leader especially vetted them all to make sure. What. I find out the clan leader who recruited me is a huge SJW, and she's been telling everyone that I'm playing a male toon to avoid creepy male players and to not 'out' me. So I go to her and tell her there's been some kind of misunderstanding, when I told her I had a girlfriend I meant I was a man in a hetero relationship, not a lesbian. She then proceeded to insist that I must be a woman because 'men are assholes' and I was 'too nice to be male' and she wouldn't believe me until I 'proved it' by sending pictures. I mentioned this is like men asking women for pics or ur not a real grl and her reply was something like 'see, if you were a man you wouldn't know that's problematic'

I'm still laughing.

I'm disproportionately upset right now because I have feelings for a fictional character and a good friend of mine got into the fandom first and has an OC who is widely shipped with that character and just every time I'm reminded of it and her and them I want to cry even though it's stupid and he's not real and we'd be incompatible anyway if he were.

Everybody loves the ship...I can't even fantasize about making my own OC and getting with him instead because the fantasy keeps getting bogged down by thhe knowledge that nobody will ship it because they already ship this...and I love my friend, she's great, and she doesn't deserve me feeling this way about her even if I don't really resent her for it...

So, I'm moving to a different country soon, and thought I'd send some of my stuff ahead in a cardboard box.

Because the box needs to be both big and sturdy enough to survive a flight, I got one from work, where we get our office supplies delivered in. Just the right size and should be alright in an airplane.

Now, like an idiot, I put a pretty wet dishtowel on the cardboard box and only realised now, a couple of ours later, when I saw the big wet spot on the box. Now it feels like I could poke a hole through the cardboard without much effort.

F!S, how fucked is the integrity of the cardboard box? I can't get a new one from work, as I literally saved this one on Friday before it was picked up with the rest of our boxes to be recycled. Can the box still be used to send stuff on an airplane once the spot is dry? The spot is on the short side of the box and takes up about a third of it.

I can't believe I've been so careless!

While I found the book kinda creepy, it was also very old-fashioned. Especially the ending, can you imagine how social media and 24 hour news cycles would change that? Very 1980s. Kinda enjoyable though.
