What's the strangest rumor you've ever heard about yourself?

It's definitely the one where I supposedly drove someone to suicide or attempted suicide. The basis for it? There doesn't seem to be any -- someone trotted that out but when asked for proof backpedaled and had Case delete the thread.

It's a little infuriating because on the one hand I don't want to be responsible for anyone hurting themselves, and yet I can't exactly take some random anon at her word after she spent a good half hour beforehand telling me I was an awful person who never apologized or showed empathy towards anyone (in spite of evidence to the contrary in that very thread, which she ignored/downplayed) especially when no proof is forthcoming. It's pretty funny how hard some anons are pushing it though.

A boy across the street told the other neighborhood kids that I'd had sex with him when we were five. The truth was that a few times we did what we as five-year-olds thought was sex, which was really more like wrestling on the bed, fully clothed, not even touching anywhere inappropriate. I don't think anyone believed him, but they acted like they did for about a week just to make fun of us and then forgot the whole thing.

C'mon, in a lot of the kind of fiction that attracts fandoms - action/adventure, supernature, etc, the heroes as well as the villains tend to commit a lot of crimes. Even if they don't really come off as crimes in context, they usually do a lot of things that they legally could be prosecuted for if they were somehow caught and evidence was found.

My fandom has over ~3000 fics relevant to my interests. How can you quickly (let's say without taking the time to read all the summaries) eliminate the likely to be bad from the likely to be good? Are views/kudos or a kudos-to-views ratio a good indicator for quality?

What characters would you like to see a redemption arc for? And/or you could actually believe them turning good at some point (or at least neutral) given the right storyline?

Why does it seem like black people are more likely to talk to strangers and more likely to be persistent about it?

I know not all, or even most, black people are like this. But every time somebody has started a conversation with me while I was minding my own business and would not stop, or kept bothering me while I was trying to work, they have been black.

They also seem more likely to say things like "good morning" or "how are you doing" when I go past, even if I don't know them, so it's not always rude.

What's your favorite scary movie?

Easy trick to figuring out how Yen = CAD?

I'm so bad with numbers. It makes me nervous that I'm spending Yen (spent on eggs and paper towel this morning) without holding any serious value to what I'm spending. I don't want to be stupid with it!

So, since moving home I have not had a single good night of sleep. I've been having nightmares every night and waking up multiple times. Part of it is probably the stress of job hunting and of living at home again. But I think part of it is the fact that my parents keep the house at 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

So, they both normally live in a tropical country, so they like the heat. I don't. And I'm not going to be home long hopefully so I haven't brought up the topic. But it has gotten to the point where I need sleep. And where I don't even want to get dressed because I want to stay in my cool pajamas all day.

How do I broach this topic with them? And do I even do so, or do I just suck it up? They generally are of the "their house their rules" point of view so it will probably take a lot of work to convince them of anything.

is upset about something I said/did, but won't say what it was. She says it was a few weeks ago (so I can't remember what it was) and she says she doesn't want to talk about it because she is overreacting and should be over it, but if I did something to hurt her I wish she would tell me so I can correct the behavior? I am pretty sure she is trying to tiptoe around my depression and not upset me by criticizing me (I only figured out she was upset about something I did with context clues), but I am so upset not knowing? But I also don't want to force her to talk to me if it makes her uncomfortable. Also we are long distance so that makes this communicating thing so much harder.

Who also happens to be a massive a-hole? I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I know I should feel sorry for her and understand she's sick, but I also think depression doesn't give people automatic get-out-of-being-an-ass card. I can't stand her but I also feel awfully guilty about that.

I think the main reasons I can't stand her is because she dumps all of her problems on her co-workers who don't even know her personally (I knew about her crappy ex before I knew her own name). It also seems like she'll find the most abrasive way to say anything which makes her come off as an a-hole. Also, she has boundary issues and she'll creep up on people to "tickle" them. Frankly, I'm not even sure what to call the last one, tickling or fondling but in either case, it's annyoing and it creeps me out. But I guess it's funny since she's a woman?

Guys, have you ever had anyone at work who's legit sick but also, really hard person to be around with? I know these two don't always go together, being sick doesn't make anyone automatically a jerk.

How did you deal with this difficult co-worker? Any advice?

Hello FandomSecrets! My friend recommended you guys to me when I said I couldn't remember the name of this book series - you helped her with a similar problem so I hope you can help me!

The book series I'm looking for is very much like Lucy Daniel's Animal Ark series (and was popular around the same time). It's about a child (a boy, I think) whose parents own a dog kennels. He has a pet border collie - later in the series the collie dies and he has two different dogs. In each book, there was another mystery or adventure relating to whichever dogs were in the kennels at the time.

I can't remember the names of any of the books or the author and it's driving me crazy! Please help!

You might have better luck trying the "What Was That Book" community on LiveJournal (whatwasthatbook.livejournal.com). Last time I looked, it was pretty active, and they usually have a good success rate.
