Pilot testing stream

Hello! I'm running a test stream for the next coupleish hours with a few first eps of shows I liked. Feel free to drop in.

As I'm just finishing up Steam Detectives, I'll be running the first two of Exes and Ohs, the queer sitcom about a lesbian divorcee and her friends that I highly recommend sticking with. And then the Darkwing Duck 001 that is rather different in tone from the rest of the series (until Bulba arrives again, I suppose). After that, some youtubes.

Assuming everything goes well without too many hiccups, I'll be set for streaming a Reboot marathon every second Sunday (that'd be starting the 27th though). Cheers!

In an alt-world future a tough police detective named Katie Coltraine (Whoopi Goldberg) is paired with a Tyrannosaurus named Theodore Rex (George Newbern) to find a killer. Whoopi was literally forced by lawsuit to make this turd, and now you get to see it! THEODORE REX!

Because sometimes it would be nice to know ahead of time whether the author wants people to ask for updates so they know you care, or will fly into a rage and threaten to delete all their stories if asked for updates. Or whether they welcome even the shortest written kudo, or demand content in their reviews. Is a request for concrit just mean proofreading or does it mean asking pointed characterization questions?

Johnlock, Sterek, Destiel? No way, Jose. GTFO.

I've wanted to start Rizzoli & Isles for a long time but I've heard the queerbaiting gets really infuriating.

What are some shows that walked a fine line between subtext, actual text and queerbaiting at first but then eliminated the queerbaiting part completely. Any recs? (And yes, I've seen House M.D. and Xena)

Things You Want to Confess But Are Too Long for A Secret

This is mine:

I have lately become obsessed with reading Kingsman fanfics. I've read hundreds of them at this point. And after all this reading, I find a seed growing in my mind, an AU multi-fic series, featuring the bane of fandom's existence, a (dun dun DUNNN) female OC!! I have thought of all the pieces that belong to this series, its overarching plot, various porn AUs, the works. I don't know if anyone else would enjoy it, but I'm having a blast working this series over in my mind and I'm really tempted to put it down in writing except that I'm afraid of spending a lot of time and energy doing something essentially worthless.

Because here's the thing, or rather, two things:

1) I have never written fanfiction, or indeed, any work of creative fiction in my life, other than for assignments in High School (which was almost 20 years ago). So anything I wrote would be crap.

2) I've never seen the movie. Everything I know about the characters and their universe is from fanfiction. So everything I wrote would be crap x 2.

But the urge to write is so strong...


Bonus!Secret: I'm afraid to see the movie, tbh! I'm afraid it will disappoint me, since movies are never as rich and fulfilling as written stories, and I fucking WORSHIP Colin Firth as an actor and don't want to feel second-hand embarrassment for him as I watch him perform as an action hero.

That people can't admit less-than-awesome confessions here (because no one ever makes a mistake or says or thinks or does something shitty and then regrets it, amirite? bad people are always bad and they should feel bad) and try to work on gaining insight or bettering themselves, without people tearing into them and mocking the whole situation so the message gets lost in the lolz.

TBH, a lot of you should feel ashamed, but I don't expect you to.

US Political question

Could someone possibly explain to me the phenomena of Democrats who oppose the Iran deal? I get Republicans opposing it because they are absolutely okay (and even in favor of) another war in the Middle East. Democrats in general aren't, though. And it seems basic common sense to me that if we don't make a deal the only other solution is war. And Iran won't accept another deal. Compromise is part of politics. Sure, the deal isn't perfect, but it is the only one we're going to get.
