So, sorry this was delayed... thing is, I applied for a job in my ideal location a while back... didn't think I'd get it... I GOT IT! I spent last weekend looking at apartments! I'm a little town over from the city I grew up in which means I'll be able to see family all the time, plus I just really liked the place so I'm happy to be back there! This does mean streams will be a bit more sporadic as I do the whole moving thing... but this weekend is still a goo!

Literally the exact same thing I did yesterday, word for word. The "joy" of working in a call centre that does surveys over the phone. Every day is exactly the same as the one before as long as we're still on the same project.

Am liking the ambient atmosphere, very artsy and pretty. I THINK I like the "you die once the game is over", except I have yet to make it past 59 days. Current run is at 52 days and I am hunting bears to make a fur sleeping bag. This feels very risky...

I do like how quiet and empty it is but wonder an awful lot as what happened as it is like everyone...just left, looking forward to the single player story. As a bonus, you can be a lady on both SP and sandbox! The SP is still being developed I think.

Bankruptcy

Has anyone here filed for bankruptcy? Particular the medical kind?

My sister recently had a long illness that has racked up around $5000 in debt. There is no way she can pay this. She has been fighting with the hospital to send her an itemized bill. They keep saying she should get one but she never does (meanwhile they are sending her collection papers).

She also has a credit card payment she has been paying off. She has a job and is responsible but the illness just wiped out everything she had. So, I was looking into filing for [medical] bankruptcy.

She doesn't want to because it makes her feel ashamed (she doesn't think $5000 warrants that kind of thing) but I think that she should.

How and when did you come to fandom?

I was a kid in the late 80s/early 90s, the usual awkward-nerdy type. I learned D&D from our nanny, and Star Trek: TNG premiered when I was ten. I got my first kiss at a convention when I was 15, and then attended BayCon every year for the next decade. The convention culture of that era already seems like a distant historical artifact, but it had value at the time. All laser-printed zines and cassette tapes of filk music, and always a corset vendor in the dealer's room...

My dog recently had surgery to remove bladder stones. We were given a pain medication for her. The medication smelled sort of beefy and had the texture of a treat. My Dad gave the dog a pill, left the bottle on the counter with the cap off, and left the room.

One of the cats jumped up onto the counter, knocked it over, and ate some of the pills. Possibly the dog ate them as well. We have two cats. We don't know which it is. These pills carry an acute risk of renal failure in cats.

We brought the cats to the emergency vet and told them to do whatever they can. It's 4000 dollars (probably), plus the 2000 we already spent on the dog this month. It's devastating. And we don't even know if it was them that ate the pills. I'm upset and ranting. Sigh.
