I just started watching the show and I'm strangely enamored of it? Like, I've never liked that actor before, but as Dresden he talks like a wizard PI, dresses like a bum, and emotes like the biggest bleeding heart in the world. It's really working for me?? I kind of want to take Harry home and feed him cookies?? And I like the cases so far too! I'm on like episode 5

Is the series like the books? Did anyone else like the show? I don't recall what the buzz was about it as it was airing....

Back in the days of LJ I kept a pretty updated journal and was active on commenting in comms and on personal journals I followed, and such ended up making quite a few friends. Some that I've stayed in touch with to this day. I don't have an LJ or a Dreamwidth and I am a hardcore lurker on Tumblr (I tried, honest I did, but I just can't get into the social conversation there), so my question is where can I go these days to find a community or make new friends? Not necessarily fandom specific, but I would like to be able to have an ID not associated with my rl name and profession etc. Any ideas?

Oh, and I've tried reddit as well and can't seem to get in the groove of it.
