I feel like f!s is a family. A fucked up one at times, but a family. I like the majority of people here and I've had some great conversations with you guys.

However, even though I adore named users (And I could list 20, and have in the past, lol) shout out to all the friendly anons. (Who could also be named users in disguise, but that's the beauty of anon.)

Sorry if there's been too many of these recently, but I need to get mine off my chest.

I miss being single. There's nothing really wrong with my relationship, it's just... boring. He's a sweet guy but he doesn't really do deep conversations or intellectual stimulation. I miss being able to flirt with other guys and have people interested in me. I feel so boring and stagnant now. But he's kind and obviously cares about and loves me a lot.... I'm just fed up and miss being desirable and available. :/

Nature and wildlife

So I live in a suburb of a fairly large city; there are foxes, deer, and coyotes in other suburbs and the county, but being so close to the beach and so densely populated with people, the biggest wildlife we usually get are raccoons, opossums, and skunks.

Well, last night at like 3 am I hear a thunk from the kitchen. When I turn on the light I don't see anything, but a knicknack was knocked off the back of the stove onto a burner. I replaced it and went back to bed. Five minutes later, another thunk. Still nothing. This hapened something like five more times, until finally I spotted the big round ears behind the spice rack.

It was a baby opossum. I shut the dog outside on one side of the yard, propped open the door nearest to the possum, and laid a trail of dog kibble out the door. He was gone this morning. But lately we've had juvenile red tailed hawks hanging out around our yard, eying the chickens, who are too big for them. Weirdest thing to see red tailed hawks drinking out of the chickens' water dish--but it's hot out.

So, FS, what kind of urban--or not so urban--wildlife do you have where you are? Any stories?

I had salad for dinner every night this week! This is a silly little thing to be proud of, but I feel good about it. What about y'all?

How to deal with people's changed attitude towards you?

Long story short, I've lost a lot of weight in few years - from morbid obesity to normal weight - and I've found it difficult to deal with people's changed behavior towards me.

The most common narrative seems to be that when somebody loses weight, everything in their lives is magically resolved and everything falls into place. Except no, that's not how this goes. The biggest change for me seems to be how other people feel about me, not how I feel about myself (or them). That's something I struggle with every day.

Of course, I know how people tell about their experiences and how they actually experience those things are two completely different things, and often quite the opposite from each other. While I don't expect life to be puppies and rainbows from now on, I'd like at least to be able to let go of this anger I feel all the time. It has been really hard for me to move on mentally from my past and how I used to be. I can't get over the rage, and I'm sceptical as hell about people now. People who used to treat me like absolute shit, are suddenly being really nice to me and showering me with attention. Treating me like I'm somehow better because I weigh less now. I mean, come the fuck on. Do people realize how insane that is?

Has anyone been in similar situation? How did you deal with it? How do you react when somebody treats you differently all of a sudden?

Our dog Samson, who we've had since I was 11, is hurt. He's already really old and he seems to have a problem with one of his hind legs. He limps not putting any weight on it.

I hope it's a minor thing, and i hate seeing him struggle around. I hope he's better soon.
