I have one but I need one where I can actually support myself. It's been three months and I've sent out a ton of applications and except for a few "I'll send your resume to management" calls and one group interview, no luck.

I feel like smashing small precious objects with my fists.

I'm just venting, by the way. I know there's no simple answer to "how to find a job."

(If you're wondering what I do, I'm a Certified Nurse Assistant. Not a prestigious job but I should be able to scrape by, damn it.)

Someone sharing intimate details of another person's life

So today I was at lunch with a friend of mine and their friend (let's call her Barbie). At the beginning it was all normal, we started talking about our common interests and everything was good. Then at the end of the lunch the Barbie started talking about her male friend (Charlie) who is into bondage and who shared a photo with her. She was talking rather loud about his personal life which he obviously shared with her in confidence. THEN she said she shared the photo on a forum without Charlie's consent.

I asked Barbie if she thinks it's alright to do that and she answered that what he doesn't know won't hurt him.

I didn't know how to react, this never happened to me before. I was totally stunned until we paid for the lunch and parted ways.

How would you react? Did something similar happen to you?

Porn Watchin' Boss

So my coworker thinks our boss is watching porn on the TV in his office upstairs. We all work downstairs and go up there very rarely to talk to him. But my coworker says she's pretty sure she's caught him once or twice (I guess he turned the TV off real quick) on different occasions.

And in case your mental image of him immediately goes to "stereotypical sleazy pervert", he's a pretty handsome, highly educated guy who's married and has two kids.

Thoughts? (I'm not planning on making this into an issue at work or anything, I'd just love to hear what other peoples' reactions to this are.)

I'm almost done with it, and I have a few nitpicks about it.

Why is almost every girl now obsessed with their boyfriends/jealous and spiteful towards other girls? I know Annabeth had that with Rachael a few books back, but now it seems every character has it. Especially Piper. For someone who is so concerned with not looking "pretty" and not wanting to be seen as "girly" she sure came off as shallow in this book. Especially with her random "braniac' comments about Annabeth. From someone who's always quoting or thinking about old legends and myths, she really did come off as a hypocrite.

I didn't mind the boys so much, aside from Frank. For some reason he really grated on me in this one. I know Leo wasn't helping matters at all, but it still got annoying with how distrustful and hateful he was towards Leo. Especially when it came to Hazel.

Otherwise I like it overall.

Rant About School

I am just so frustrated right now. I had a rough transition into a new living situation and school at the beginning of the semester and I am so far behind in Organic Chemistry right now it's not even funny.

It just sucks because I'm actually training in a biochemistry lab right now and I love it, I love lab work, but I'm genuinely terrified that I'm not going to pass Organic ever and I don't really know what to do with myself. I failed the last exam and I'm so far behind for the next quiz that I feel like I'll never get all this work done.

I just feel like no one knows that I'm secretly a failure and I feel like a liar when I say I'm a biochemistry major because people act all impressed and I don't legitimately feel like I'm smart enough for people to be impressed with me.

I'm so scared too because I don't want to lose my scholarships and I have to have above a 3.5 or else I don't get to keep them and if I don't have that money I'm so fucked.

I just feel really stupid and sad right now and I wanted to rant about it here.

I'm looking for any historical novels about a person who invents or discovers something of scientific or philosophical significance. Ancient world preferred, but any era welcome.

Or yesterday if it's morning wherever you are. I finished a 3k-word assignment that was causing me no end of stress. It was shit... but I finished! And I found some great fanfic. What about you, F!S?

What was the last book that left you disgusted? And why?

I just finished Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn and I thought Twilight was misogynistic. With exception of this nice, newspaper editor couple, everyone in that book had no redeeming value. None. Like Sodom and Gommorah set in Missouri. I have never read a book where I want to punch every character, square in the face. Even the lead. All the women were catty, stab you in the back, laugh about it to your face and then spread rumors about it around afterward, sociopath monsters. And the all the men were idiotic, shallow doormats with no will of their own other than to say, "Yes, ma'am" to the women who lorded over them.

Ugh. What a vile book. (I read all the way through hoping that at least the lead would redeem herself. Nope.)

General Sephiroth from FF7 doesn't watch Disney movies anymore.

He never got the chance as a child, but as an adult, he caught a bit of Hunchback of Notre Dam. Watching Quasi sing about just wanting to go out and be normal hit him hard in the feels, and it became his favorite movie ever of all time. He bought a copy and watches it alone, curled up on the couch, hugging a pillow.

So he decided to see what else Disney had to offer and started renting dvds. Some were okay, some were crap.

Then he rented The Fox and the Hound. To this day, he doesn't know how the movie ended because when he got to THAT scene, he was so upset that he kicked the tv over and had to scream into a pillow before he calmed down.

He doesn't watch Disney movies anymore (but he still loves Hunchback).

*If you don't know what THAT scene is, search YouTube for 'fox and hound sad scene'. Be prepared to go to criesbabies house for vacations.
