So I decided to come out to my dad as transgender this weekend since I'm going to see a doctor next week to start the diagnose progress. Both of these events scare me to death (can't breathe, don't know whether to cry or throw up, and for Heaven's sake I should be sleeping, I have school tomorrow)

Hey fs. So I recently found out a guy I used to go to school with is in a fairly popular, fairly successful band (keeping up with popular culture, what). Inevitably these days, there's fanfiction, which I accidentally stumbled upon earlier. Because I knew the guy when we were both 11, and because I have written RPF myself in the past, the fact that people are writing it about someone who was in my extended friends group for years is ridiculously hilarious to me; only I have no one else to share this with without sounding like an utter nutjob. That's what the internet is for!

And no, I didn't read it. Maybe next time I have vodka around.

Odd Qurks and Habits

Hey F!S have you ever realized that you have an odd quirk/habit? Some I do know, others I have had pointed out to me

Here are a few of mine:
-When holding drink glasses, cylindrical objects, or what have you, I tend to have my pinkie out. I have no idea how this happened.
-Only at home with my mom and grandpa: This systems from childhood obsession with cats, I think. I occasionally make the an inquisitive cat sound. Sometimes, I do say Nya or nyuu.
-Whether reading a book, I find out what page is the middle. When I reach the middle, I go to the end of the book and read the last two sentences.
-When bored or oddly happy, do this weird tongue clicking song....No actual song, but just notes...
- When someone tells me to pour or give a little more, I literally give then a tiny or little piece. Our family tended to do this each other
- Lastly, saying "No" to the doing a particular favor at the moment, but doing it anyways. (This I only do with people I know well or family)
Example:
Friend: Hey K. Hold my bag for a second.
Me: *while taking bag* No
Friend: *Finishes* Done, hand me back my bag.
Me: *while returning bag* No

What fandom introduced you to shipping slash

For those of you who like slash, what was the first fandom you started reading slash in and what was the first slash couple you shipped?

Mine was fairly stereotypical: Kirk/Spock, Star Trek, but the first time I heard of the idea of "Hoyay" was osmosis through fandom friends about Clark/Lex in Smallville.

...Am I right in thinking this phrase came from a show?

Because for some reason, this phrase just kills me inside. If I hear or read it, I spend the next fifteen minutes unable to think about anything but defenseless children getting hurt. It just really -- instantly puts me into a bad mind space.

And yet I see people throw it around like it's so funny. And I just -- I don't see any problem with people laughing at something that for me is something of a minor trigger, but it just really messes with me.

So I don't know what I'm asking. Maybe I'm asking why it's funny? But maybe I'm not, because it's something I can't make laughaboutable, given my reaction. (Again, I am NOT calling people who find it funny callous, bad, or evil.)

SO I guess I'll just stick to what did it come from? Did it come from some kind of quip on a show, such that people who use it aren't even thinking of the context I am at all? Or is it really-o truly-o (god, I hope not) stemming from the idea of mocking kids who try to defend themselves by crying out for help?

What are some storyline ideas (or just scene ideas) that you wish you could have seen happen in a show of yours, but due to the ongoing march of continuity bringing an end to a specific period/situation/arrangement of characters, or due to the show ending, you know it can never happen?
