Anyone here suffer from bi-polar disorder or know someone? I think I may and I plan on bringing it up to a doctor when I can afford to. I suffer from severe depression (along with most of my family) but I sometimes have periods of a month or two where I get really into something and then I eventually become depressed again and no longer enjoy the thing.

Some of my past obsessions have been baking, knitting, and building a garden. I get really hyped about it for 2 months, buy things, think about doing it for a living, then BAM depression hits worse than ever.

I sometimes think it may be bipolar but most of the stuff I have found online seem to be really severe high periods (and low periods). So maybe I am just depressed and too lazy to finish projects.

Taking your mind off stress

Lately I'm always stressing out about one thing or another. Yesterday I volunteered to participate in a study so I had to answer a questionnaire and complete some computerised tests in a small, air-conditioned room that was tucked away in a corner of a university reserved for lecturers so it was really quiet. After I finished, I realised it was the first time in ages that my mind was completely focused away from the things that were stressing me out. I wish I could make a space for myself that's so quiet and isolated, but I don't have anywhere like that.

What do you guys do to take your mind off things that stress you out?

Weird grammarish things you're picky about

You know that twinge you get inside when you see a spelling or grammar mistake? Well, I also get that when I see certain correct words or phrases that I just don't like. The one I'm thinking of now is "who, what, when, where, why". I get al twitchy when I see that because to me, it has to be "who, what, where, when, why", and any other way is just wrong. I think it's because it makes a pyramid with the number of letters (3, 4, 5, 4, 3), which is stupid, but it's how I get.

Do any of you have these things you just can't stand even though they're not actually wrong?
