Kagura isnt the only stereotype breaker either. Otae is tough as nails despite her gentle mannerisms, Otsuu is a pop star who sings about vulgar shit despite it not being very "becoming" for a young lady, Sa-chan is tough but she proudly displays being a sub every chance she gets, she LIKES being treated as less by a man... Shit, I gotta give this show props for at least giving her that choice.


I dunno, I thought the Kyuubei arc was pretty amazing. I think her being able to cry had nothing to do with weakness. She grew up totally abused and was probably told she couldnt cry, so here comes her chance to finally be strong enough to break the mold she was imprisoned in. She didnt have a choice in it all her life, and then here comes Otae, and you know, gives her the ability to actually choose her emotion at the time. To me it didnt imply that females were supposed to be passive and weak, but
rather that being a male sounds like an emotional prison where you have to keep everything bottled up.

about her making her change teams or whatever in the goukan episode, it was about getting her in touch with her feminine side, at least just a tiiiiny bit. It started all because the Yorozuya thought she was thinking about a sex change. Which was of course, a dumb unfounded rumor. Did you forget that Yagyuu also flips out violently at the touch of a man? I mean, its not practical to live like that either you know, they were just trying to get her to try different thing out now that she was free of her family's rules, before going to get a dick.

I don't watch the drama, but I do think one of the actors in that show (Yamamoto Yusuke) is cute. Of course that could be because I'm biased now that he's playing Tamaki in the Ouran live action

I'm not disagreeing, but I do feel like they were both given the opportunity to look at their actions and see how they were hurting people, but chose not to. Tai Lung had Shifu confront him directly and try to make up for how he hurt his pupil in the past, but Tai Lung was too arrogant to accept not getting the scroll and was blinded by it. Even when he did see the scroll, he couldn't comprehend it and continued on trying to kill Po and take the scroll anyway.

Shen, on the other hand, was sent away to prevent him from taking the path of evil and resented his parents for it, rather than trying to make peace with the world around him. He too was arrogant and even when people did bow to him it was never enough. He shared a moment with Po and like Tai Lung with the scroll, couldn't comprehend letting go of his hatred and megalomania and finding inner peace. It was all or nothing for him.

I'm not saying they deserved what they got, but they were given more than one chance to see the error of their ways and look at the bigger picture. Neither of them wanted to see it for what it was.

Nitpick: A transvestite isn't the same as a transgendered person, it's someone who enjoys wearing the clothes of the opposite gender, either for fetish reasons or just because they feel like it. For example, Eddie Izzard is a transvestite, but he is not transgendered. In theory a transgendered person could also be a transvestite, but I don't think it's common.

I did this with a fic of mine. It kind of made it easier to tell those I wanted to tell, when I chose to tell them. I thought of it as my processing time; trying to work out how I felt about the whole thing. Perhaps you'll tell them when you're ready? And perhaps you're just not ready yet. Support helps but you need to be in the right frame of mind first.

I used to feel this way, too. but learning from his mistakes and trying to better yourself through art, literature, history, and just being your own person despite the haters is what he would have wanted from his fans.
