Some ground rules:

I am so, SO jealous of Felicia Day sometimes.

I'm like her stupider twin. I'm her age. I have red hair. I play the violin just as well (and could have been a professional if I'd wanted it). Kaidan is my favorite Mass Effect Romance option. Even *I* feel like he's one of the more uninteresting characters, so I have no idea why I love the romance so much. The basic story structure, I guess?

He's not my favorite, but I do like the relationship between him and Shepard even if he's not a very interesting character by himself. As part of a couple, he's a stabilizing influence without being completely boring and his relationship with Shepard is genuinely devoted and loving. No big baggage, just support and understanding and a shoulder for the biggest badass in the galaxy to lean on. Plus, that voice. Unf.

When the lack of collectibles for a fandom disappoints me too much, I create & customize my own! Action figures, key-chain figures, dolls, and now I try my hand at plush toys.
The catch is, I don't have a camera so I can't share my creations with the fandom and make people jealous.

back when I was more into HP I loved reading genderbending Marauders fic. Didn't matter which one of them it happened to, if it was done for humor or drama or sex, I just enjoyed it. No idea why.

Ghost stories and Personal experiences.

I love a good ghost story, soooo - tell us your creepy/ghostly encounters?

I'll start-

The house I grew up in was really old and sometimes you could hear people walking around upstairs when there was no-one else there. It was a detached house, so it wasn't coming from next door or anything, and I've got no siblings to be playing tricks.

Also, the place had an extension that had recently been added on, and you only ever heard the footsteps in the old part of the house.

My boyfriend and I used to share a one-room apartment that was very small (255cm by 340cm) and more than a handful of times I would wake, unable to move. I would feel terror because I could hear the front door shaking, footsteps through the entrance where our sink was, then getting closer, walking over (through?) me and then my boyfriend sleeping next to me. Finally the steps would lead right through our sliding door out to the balcony.

I'm embarrassed to have gotten drawn into a ~ship war~ or whatever with regards to Legend of Korra, but Mako is literally the worst. I don't get what Korra, Asami or fans of the show see in him and I would not be even a little bit sad if he died in the first ten seconds of the new season.

I haaaate Mako. But I'm also an adult. I could see teenage!me being attracted to a brooding, grumpy, hot teenage boy. That whole "oh he's so tortured but he's strong and beautiful and I could fix him!" appeal that SO doesn't work for me anymore. I just hope Korra grows out of it in a season or two and realizes he's just a whiny manchild.

Fanfiction problems

BDSM is one of my favorite kinks. Alex, from Nikita, is one of my favorite characters. I desperately want BDSM fic with her. But her past as a sex slave makes me feel really creepy about that, in a way I don't usually about kink. It's not something I want to write myself, and it's not something I expect other people to write. So it remains my elusive white whale.

I get unreasonably distressed when one of my fandoms seems to be in virtually universal agreement over an opinion except for me. I actually worry that something is wrong with my head or my conscience, and it makes me panic and cry sometimes.

Opinions on this series, be it the manga, anime or whatever? I LOATHE the main character to the point that I become angry when I read or watch the series. She's so arrogant, selfish and seems to take such malicious joy from the suffering of everyone except those few people she likes. I cannot fathom how this series has got so many adaptations, sequels, spin-offs etc. when it has such an unlikeable protagonist.

And yet I always keep coming back for more. I just finished reading the first two volumes of some strange spin-off with a girl called Yui, hated all of it, and yet I know I'll be getting more when some comes out in German.

Did anybody here watch this show? It was my first fandom, but our goal was pretty much to make it not suck. Gay people existed, Mary wasn't treated like the evil black sheep for being the only competent person in the family -- or if she was, she recognized that her family was made of assholes. Ruthie was the family sociopath, the twins actually got to come out from behind the couch and get some help for their obvious disabilities.

And in one case, Lucy was a vampire slayer. And it seemed normal. Great, great fandom for a shitty, shitty show.
