I feel so alone in FMA fandom now. All of them moved to Korra fandom (very understandable) but I don't like Korra and I don't want to act like I care. I've started to lose some of them, it breaks my heart.

I never realized how empty my life was before that, and I really want a fandom. I mean, how awesome would Carp/Waino fic be? And Puma/anyone? God, want!

I legitimately liked the first Expendables, and I admit that I can't name the first three or four Bourne movies, so clearly I'm not seeing it for the plot.

Hotel Transylvania - What can I say, it looks okay.

NOVEMBER:
Life of Pi - I forgot all about it and was pleasantly surprised to see that they actually did not cast a white person to play someone clearly from India.

Wreck it Ralph - I saw the concept art and just wrote it off. Then I saw the trailer and ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT!

Rise of The Guardians - even if I have a sneaking fear of Jack Frost/Pitch getting the Fandom Darling Treatment.

Lexington was/is my favorite Gargoyle. Thus, I got a bit pissed off when the Nostalgia Critic review the show and wrote Lexington off as the "sissy one". Does anyone else feel this way or am I simply doing it wrong?

i ADORE Lex. he was my first cartoon crush. and in what world is he sissy? because he's small? his voice isn't as deep? he kicks JUST as much ass as the rest of them, plus his tech skills... he's invaluable and badass. WTF nostalgia critic! I'm holding out hope that NC didn't call Lex that just because he's gay. That'd piss me off.

agreed. I loved the first anime. i roll my eyes when people say Brotherhood was automatically superior JUST because it's closer to the manga. I haven't seen it, I'm not doubting it's good, but way too many people are just writing off the original anime entirely. and I love it so... boo :(

Has anyone read The Vampire's Assistant/Darren Shan Saga/Cirque Du Freak prequel series? What do you think?

I was involved in a fandom kerfuffle that seems to have mostly died down...but I can't stop looking for the wank. And when I'm not looking for the wank, I'm trying to get back in. And sometimes, when I can't get back in, I feel really bad not only about that, but about knowing I was never one of the big players. *I* was never one of the commenters people showed up for more than the main guy. Basically, there's a whole of feels there, and none of them make sense.

I've completely fallen in love with it and finally watched every single musical after scoffing at it only some years ago (pfft, a muscial about tennis? come on...).

Unfortunately I'm way late to the party and the fandom has quieted down somewhat enormously - not to mention: the next DVD is scheduled for December which feels such a long time away.

So, to tide me over until then: tell me, FS, what myu/actor/song is your favourite? Thoughts about 2nd season? RPFing anyone? Let's hear it!

I LOVE TENIMYU. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

I've seen all of them up through.... Higa, I think. But I haven't seen any since that. I got really weirded out by the idea of different Hyoutei cast members (specifically, anyone but Katou Kazuki as Atobe), so I never saw the Hyoutei nationals one. And I haven't seen any after that, because I refuse to do anything out of order. So I haven't seen any 2nd season ones, though I kind of really want to.

I actually saw one musical in person--Absolute King Rikkaidai Second Service, which is the Rikkai singles half from the Kantou tournament. And it was FRICKING AWESOME. I thought the Rikkai cast was absolutely amazing. Of the ones I've seen, I think Rikkai might be the best all-around cast.

That said, I have an enormous soft spot for the first Seigaku cast, especially Tsuchiya and Nagayama as the Golden Pair. I don't really ship them or anything, and I think the 3rd cast had a better individual Ooishi and Kikumaru, but I think the 1st cast had the best Golden Pair dynamic. And I also saw Tsuchiya and Nagayama in Aru Hi... which was equally awesome. /cool story bro

And I am not ashamed to say that I have several Best Actors CDs (all Rikkai, since that's what I saw in person--007, 008, and 009, which are Golden Pair, Niou-Yagyuu, and Sanada-Yukimura, and I swear I did not ship Sanada/Yukimura until I saw that one of the songs on their disk is called Hatsukoi, meaning "first love," JEEZ pandering much). And I may also have official photos from the musical I saw. And I regularly sing songs from the musicals in the shower. Particular favorites include "Yudan sezu ni Ikou" (Tezuka's "Don't be careless" song), "Cha Cha to Tsubusu ze" (Kirihara's "I'm going to destroy you" song), "Ore wa Ore no Namae de Yobaretai" (Fuji Yuuta's "Screw you, Bro" song), "Kamigakari no Tennis--Dakara Katsu no wa..." (Fuji vs. Kirihara), "Kachi ni Shuuchaku suru Otoko" (Fuji's "For the first time, I actually care about winning" song), "Depend on Me" (Ooishi's ode to Kikumaru), and a lot of the ending ensemble numbers ("F.G.K.S," "Next/Must Be Strong/Finalist," "On My Way," et cetera)... am I going overboard?

I tried to get tickets the second time I was in Japan, but I wasn't quick enough on the computer keyboard. I was there, waiting online, when tickets went on sale. Tickets sold out in ten seconds. Literally, no exaggeration. I didn't manage to get a single ticket. (The one I saw, I got to go to because I was staying with a homestay family who bought me tickets for my birthday at scalper price. The second time I was in Japan, I was living on a stipend and couldn't afford to pay scalper price. Sigh. I still regret not being faster on my computer.)

I could talk more, but... yeah. I think I've embarrassed myself enough. Hooray for anonymity!

But thanks to you, I think I'm going to hunt down the musicals I haven't seen. Thanks for the push!

I love Derek and Styles separately. And I love their scenes together. They're hilarious. But I just can't ship them. I've tried. I want to. I just don't see it.

I think it's great that the cast and show runners are so open to it, and even say they're considering making it canon. But I kind of want Derek to get a girlfriend.
