One of my favorite pairings has no fics at all, and if they are in something it's only in the back of the background. I really want to write a few fics for them, but I know my writing is painfully mediocre and it bothers me. /sigh

I've been with my fiancé for eight years. He used to be in fandom in the '90's but he's doing different fannish things now. I'm a fic reader/ fandom lurker. We talk about fandom stuff, but I'm the one doing the most traditional fandom things nowadays.

Both. I've always kind of wanted to be a futanari, but like in a Ranma way where I can change back and forth. I just feel like sex stuff would be more fun if I had a dick and boobs, and I'm kind of jealous of people with dicks because they can switch between topping and bottoming (strap-ons aren't really the same).

Has anyone ever had to deal with LJ friends who you friended because you share a certain fandom and pairings in that fandom and you shared a whole lot of opinions. But then you get into a fandom and discover that not only do they have opposite views to you on this fandom, but they think the things you like/ship are so bad that the constantly have entries bashing them on your journal.

This has recently come up. On the one hand, we do have a bunch in common and love to discuss those fandoms. On the other hand, the bashing is getting annoying. And I'm actually starting to want to talk about this fandom on my own journal and because of my particular issues feel nervous posting about what I like on my own journal because they'll see it.

Is Breaking Bad actually as amazing as everyone says it is? People keep hounding me to watch the damn show, but I really haven't had a chance, and I'm not particularly sure I even want to.

I watched the pilot when it first aired, mostly because I love Vince Gilligan (his XF episodes were always some of my favorites), but I turned it off halfway because it was depressing and made me super uncomfortable for some reason.

So, does it maintain that same tone throughout? Or does it get some levity at some point? Is it worth watching if I 1)didn't care for the pilot and 2)am not that interested in dramas about drugs/trafficking?

D.W. is one of my favorite characters precisely because she's an annoying little kid. She's spunky and obnoxious and she makes me laugh. Evidently, outside of my mom and my sister, I'm alone in this.

And over the years, I've come to like Buster less and less. Maybe as I get older, he just seems stupider and stupider. Unpopular opinions FTW.

DW I go back and forth on. Sometimes I find her over the top annoying and self centered (which whatever, she's a kid, but it still annoys me) and then other times I find her spunky and obnoxious and yeah she makes me laugh.

I haven't watched Arthur in years. Is it still on? That's awesome if it is.

I actually made a community for BDs, once -- or, well, European comics in general (so it wasn't a kinkmeme, but I was planning on making a post for that purpose). I just failed to get it off the ground, but maybe I should try to resurrect it.

I get pretty depressed sometimes when I think about my relationships. I'll never feel for anyone what I (briefly) feel for fictional characters. And none of this, 'oh you just haven't met the right person yet' stuff--I'm 28 and I've been in several relationships/had sex with probably more people than is healthy. I've just never felt love/attraction for those people on the same level as fictional ones.

Dude 28 is not that old and is not the end of the world. Did you ever consider that you haven't felt the same level of love/attraction because you haven't met The One yet? Could happen.

And I don't know, I don't think there is really an unhealthy amount of sex or relationships I think it's more about your mental state and how you handle the sex and relationships.

If the fandom has decided, "All who want to watch online instead of buying the DVDs are the cancer killing the English dub!" how difficult is it going to be to see the newest dubbed episodes of One Piece? People have the episodes already, but google searching just brings up a lot of filed cease and desist orders. I really think fans are going to attack anyone uploading the episodes. They've been patting themselves on the back for buying ten copies and saying, "If you can pay for internet, you can pay for the DVDs!" despite the fact not everyone has to pay for internet.

Do you name the anons you see on FS? I give anons names. It could be there's a bit of overlap. Maybe it's 4 anons under one name, then elsewhere I'll have 5 anon under five names.

Then I ship them, or put them in a family.

Once I made some sims characters, gave them an 'anon' name and personality traits the anons seemed to embody and let them loose to freeroam the city

It was great. Although one of the SJW anons died while I was making dinner and one of the other anons was reading a Murder in Pleasantville. Never did find out how the SJW anon died.

Sex research for fandom?

I'm asexual and have no interest whatsoever in relationships or sex. But I write a lot of porn for my fandom, and lately I've started thinking that I should try to have sex so that I would actually know what it's like. I'd especially like to know what it's like to give a blowjob.

i don't think it's ridiculous. i have very low interest in guys but i often wind up shagging them anyway, so during the act i usually just wind up making mental notes for my writing later.

i'm sure plenty of people will be willing to share their personal experience if you don't want to go that far for the sake of research, but i can understand how actually doing it makes it easier to describe.

A pairing that I was shipping was effectively torpedoed last year, I don't think any of us who shipped it are actively doing so anymore, yet I still occasionally see people making snide comments about it and the people who shipped it.
And I just don't get it. You didn't like it? Fine. But it's quite obviously in the past now, so why are you still bringing it up?
