So it's my birthday this week and my idea of a party is to stream some movies for you guys.

We will be watching:

Romeo + Juliet: Yes, that one - the one from the '90's staring Leo Dicaprio and Claire Danes. No, wait. Don't go. It's actually really good! If you like dramatic and campy movies, AS I DO, then you are gonna love this. It's really awesome and completely, ridiculously fun.

Scooby-Doo! Wrestlemania Mystery: Knowing me, you knew wrestling would be involved somehow, and what better way than with Scooby-Doo! John Cena achieves ultimate meme status and gains the admiration of even those skeptical of his charms in this ACTUALLY GOOD MOVIE. I promise, it's as hilarious as the little snippets you may have seen online made it out to be.

Now, for our third movie, I'm torn. I would like to continue with the campiness theme, but I also wanted to show you guys this weird but interesting sci-fi film I think not many people saw. So, you've got a choice between Death Becomes Her, in which rivals Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn take a youth potion and then proceed to attempt to one-up and murder each other, OR, Predestination, in which, through Time Shenanigans, an agent must stop a mad bomber - but, of course, things are more complicated than they seem. (Don't look up stuff on this movie because you don't not want to be spoiled!)

I have had a few votes for Predestination, but I'm still open to other opinions.

Have there ever been times in fandom when certain fans got smacked down hard and it made you cackle in glee (whether it's because their ship got sunk, their favorite character died, or some piece of popular fanon just plain got destroyed by actual canon, etc.)?

Two sisters and a...boyfriend-in-law had their birthdays this week. So tomorrow we are having a birthday lunch with all of them (thanks to my Aunt). And Sunday we are having BIRTHDAY CAKE (and gifts). Nomnomnom. It is an ice cream cake too, so extra noms.

I'll also be busy making like 2 dozen breakfast burritos for my sister and I to freeze and eat. That'll be time consuming but oh, so delicious.

This thread has been done before, so lets see some of the rarer and more specific ones this time around!

One that makes me roll my eyes hard enough to make them fall out is when two characters who are close friends have a one-sight stand, and one character remains all hung up and emotionally stunted and miserably trapped in unrequited love and obsessed about that one-night-stand for YEARS while still staying close friends with the other person and yet never discussing it with them.

A couple years at the most, and if, like, they're two guys/two girls in a very homophobic society, with internalized homophobia too? Okay, maybe then. But other than that, it just makes them so pathetic and immature to me.
