Here's the thing. I usually wear the same pair of black flats day in and day out. I have flat feet (meaning almost no arch), so I pound though the lining, heels, and toes of my shoes pretty quickly. This process also expedited because my feet don't touch the floor when I sit, so the toes are constantly scraping the floor.

My question is this: What are some durable, but school and work appropriate, brands/kinds of shoes you'd recommend? Something that'll last me a couple years at least. Thanks!

I'm looking to get into the field and I have some questions!

Mostly I'm wondering if it's even possible for non-English majors. I have a degree in a foreign language and experience translating, proofreading and editing translations from that language into English. But I'm wondering if that would be enough when the source language is already English. (I'm not particularly picky about what I'd be editing, but the majority of my experience is magazine articles, if that helps.)

For example, if superpowers existed in his world, I would say that Gregory House can predict the future (weakly). Usually the actions of other people and not acts of nature.
