I have to be part of a group assignment for a class - an utter joy in itself as you can probably imagine - and there's this really difficult person I cannot stand. She has to disagree with everything anyone says just on principle, which ok, is allowed and I can deal with that.

What I cannot deal with is how she doesn't seem to have any filters at all. She OVERshares everything in her personal life. C'mon! We're doing an assignment because teachers are sadist fuckers who enjoy our pain, please don't add to my pain by sharing everything about your personal life.

How do you guys deal with oversharers who you cannot stand? My default setting with these kind of people is to avoid, avoid, avoid, but since I have to get this thing done, I have to deal with her. I just don't know how.

I wonder what the best thing for the man present could have done? If they get involved they may be in a situation where they would need to use a measure of violence against the junkie woman which I don't think can be sanctioned. Certainly it would have meant unwanted touching of the woman. But not getting involved leaves them as cowardly un-men, and just as guilty as everyone else under the bystander effect.

So what do you think? What should they have done?

At the end of Y The Last Man, was the world in a better place than it started? I believe that the world was better at large, science had moved on leaps and bounds, the world was green and lush and, and humanity was thriving again in a way not seen before the event.

My partner believes it was a dark reflection of our own world with all the horrible shit still in place just hidden under a veil of social and technological progress.

I used to watch this all the time when I was a young kid and now years later I've for some reason started watching a lot of it on youtube out of nostalgia or something.

It's, like, a really good kids' show??? Sure it's silly and overly educational and when the kids are jerks their jerkiness is way nicer than it usually is in real life, but it's like, really good for an educational kid's show? I'm very surprised by how non-stupid and non-cheesy it was, and how well-thought-out some of the episodes were for address some kids issues.

AHHHHHH help it's been so long since I was a little kid and so long since I've interacted extensively with little kids that I've forgotten how it felt like for loose teeth to be a totally normal thing that wasn't horrifying at all. Now my 6 year old niece who's family is staying with me has a super loose tooth and she's wiggling it all the time and it's giving me the crawling heebie-jeebies.
